Hai Phong - The City of Red Flamboyant Flowers

Hai Phong , an important port city in the Northern Coastal Region, is a center of industry and seaports, as well as an economic , cultural, medical, educational, scientific, commercial, and technological hub of Vietnam. It is one of the five centrally-governed cities in Vietnam. Hai Phong is a Class I urban area, a regional and national center. Historically, Hai Phong was also the first place in Vietnam and Indochina to receive electricity.

Hai Phong is also known as the Port City. The widespread planting of flamboyant trees, and the distinctive color of their blossoms on the streets, has earned Hai Phong the beautiful nickname "City of Red Flamboyant Flowers." Beyond being a major industrial port city, Hai Phong also possesses immense tourism potential.
