Happy Independence Day!

This year's Independence Day holds special significance not only because it marks the 80th anniversary of the nation's founding, but also because the entire country has just completed a momentous task: the "reorganization of the nation," preparing Vietnam for an era of progress and prosperity. Even more special is that the people of Tuyen Quang, along with the rest of the country, are receiving gifts from the State for the first time on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd. Therefore, the people's feelings about this year's Independence Day are truly special, filled with pride in a milestone of national development.

A canopy of fluttering flags

In a joyful and proud atmosphere celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd, people throughout Tuyen Quang province walked under a sea of ​​red flags and flowers, hand in hand with the national flag, carrying the spirit of Vietnamese pride along every street.

Comrade Pham Duc Nam, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Van commune, said: From the days of organizing the commune's Party Congress to the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd, the entire commune was decorated with colorful flags and flowers. Commune units and residents organized cleaning and decorating of grounds, roads, and houses... to joyfully welcome the great national holiday. Walking around the streets and alleys in the early morning or late evening, one could also see groups dancing and singing to revolutionary songs, further enhancing the cheerful and vibrant atmosphere, spreading national pride everywhere.

In Minh Xuan ward, these days, the streets seem to have donned a new look. Around the main roads and central areas: Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, the intersection of eight roads, Binh Thuan Street, Tan Quang Lake, Tan Trao Boulevard, Quang Trung Street, etc., are decorated with banners and posters promoting the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd, along with vibrant flags and flowers. Even the alleys in residential areas are adorned with national flags and Party flags displayed respectfully and uniformly by residents, demonstrating not only compliance with regulations but also unity and national pride.

Sharing in the joy of the nation

Although unable to be present in Hanoi during the grand celebrations, the people of Tuyen Quang are always focused on the historic Ba Dinh Square – the venue for the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd – with patriotism, pride, self-respect, and a spirit of national unity. For the newly formed Tuyen Quang province, after the merger of the former Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang provinces, the province has a larger space, a larger scale of development, and a vision and aspirations that have been elevated to a new level. The atmosphere of this national celebration is therefore much more vibrant, from urban areas to the bustling construction work on the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang Expressway Project, to the joy of a bountiful harvest among farmers in their orchards of ripe pears in Hong Thai, Dong Van, and Meo Vac, to the lively songs and melodies throughout the villages: the sound of the Tinh lute and Then melodies of the Tay and Nung people; the sound of the Hmong people's flutes and pipes...

And amidst this heroic historical atmosphere, the soldiers of yesteryear joyfully welcomed Independence Day with emotion and pride. Mr. Ma Cong To, from Minh Quang commune, who participated in the Upper Laos campaign, could not hide his emotion and pride when mentioning this sacred historical milestone of the nation. He shared: “National Day on September 2nd is not only a historical event, but also a symbol of the indomitable spirit, unwavering will, and profound patriotism of all the Vietnamese people. Commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd is not just a commemoration, but a sacred reminder of responsibility, gratitude, and the aspiration to build a strong and prosperous Vietnam. I am proud to see Tuyen Quang developing day by day, with its people living in prosperity and happiness. And what moves me most at this moment is the unwavering patriotism in the hearts of each citizen, especially the young people. That is the most precious thing that needs to be preserved and passed on forever.”

Numerous visitors flocked to the thematic exhibition "From the Tan Trao National Congress to the National Assembly Today" at the Tan Trao Special National Historical Site during the National Day celebrations.

Each young person in Tuyen Quang celebrates Independence Day in their own unique and meaningful way. Some choose to go to Hanoi to watch the parade, others choose to go to the Lung Cu flagpole to sing the national anthem, while some opt for movie theaters to enjoy films about the revolutionary war, further understanding and appreciating the value of peace. Young people also visit cafes and restaurants to take photos against the backdrop of the national flag and post them on social media to share the joy with others. As for Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyet from Ha Giang 2 ward, this holiday gives her many days off from work, allowing her to spend more time with her family and also watch the live broadcast of the parade from Hanoi.

Joy spreads

This year's National Day on September 2nd is even more meaningful as the people of Tuyen Quang, along with people across the country, receive special gifts from the Government. With a gift amount of 100,000 VND per person, this meaningful gift not only has material value but also represents sharing, care, and solidarity. In Tuyen Quang, this meaningful gift is spreading joy, excitement, and a deep sense of pride throughout the community.

Sharing on Facebook, user Sèo Vàng from Lùng Vần Chải village, Sơn Vĩ commune, said: “I’ve never seen a Independence Day celebration as special as this one. A small gift, but with great meaning, showing the concern of the Party and the State for the lives of the people. I feel proud and moved.”

“Throughout my life, I’ve witnessed countless major holidays, but I’ve never seen a scene where ‘the entire population receives gifts.’ It was both strange and unexpected. Strange because it was the first time, and unexpected because the government cared for its people in such a simple yet profoundly meaningful way,” shared Mrs. Phi Thi Lam, 91 years old, from Phan Thiet 17 residential group, Minh Xuan ward.
