Despite the global aviation market being affected by fluctuating fuel prices, the number of Vietnamese tourists visiting South Korea continues to maintain positive growth in 2026. In particular, the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism segment recorded a growth of over 64% year-on-year, demonstrating South Korea's increasing appeal to Vietnamese tourists.

According to the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) in Vietnam, as of April 2026, KTO had supported 12,888 incentive travel groups, a 64.4% increase compared to the same period in 2025. This result further affirms South Korea as one of the top international destinations for Vietnamese tourists, while also contributing to promoting cultural exchange and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Along with the strong recovery of the tourism market, the friendly relations between Vietnam and South Korea are also being increasingly strengthened through high-level exchanges, most notably the visit of General Secretary To Lam to South Korea in August 2025 and the official visit of the President of South Korea to Vietnam in April 2026.
In an effort to facilitate travel for Vietnamese citizens, the South Korean government has expanded the scope of issuance of 10-year multiple-entry visas (Type C-3-91), effective from the end of March 2026. The new policy applies to various groups, including residents of Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City; those who have previously entered OECD countries; employees of South Korean companies with significant investments in Vietnam; and leaders and managers of leading Vietnamese businesses and their family members.

According to KTO, the expansion of the visa policy is expected to further boost tourism demand, people-to-people exchanges, and bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and South Korea in the coming period. Simultaneously, from May 20-22, KTO also organized a series of B2B tourism promotion workshops, “Korea Travel Roadshow 2026,” in Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City, with the participation of over 22 local tourism promotion agencies, travel businesses, and entertainment companies from South Korea.
Within the framework of the program, KTO announced several support policies for Vietnamese travel businesses, focusing on K-Culture products, charter tours, sports tours, study tours, and tours connecting Vietnamese and Korean heritage sites.
In addition, KTO will continue to cooperate with airlines, banks, and online travel platforms to implement various promotional programs for Vietnamese tourists in 2026.
Ms. Park Eun Jung, Chief Representative of the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam, stated that Vietnam continues to be one of the key markets for Korean tourism. According to her, this year's Roadshow series not only strengthens connections between tourism businesses of the two countries but also promotes new products, especially the trip to K-Vietnam Valley – a project expected to become a bridge for cultural and tourism exchange between Vietnam and Korea in the future.
