On the afternoon of May 8th, at the SECC Exhibition Center (Nguyen Van Linh Street, Tan My Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), thousands of young people lined up to check in for the Vietnam GameVerse 2026 event.

Inside the festival, the atmosphere was always lively, with many stalls offering electronic games attracting large numbers of young people to stop and experience them.

Luong Tran Cong Thang, a student at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City, said he arrived early hoping to experience many new games and receive rewards. “I’m most interested in the VNG booth. The game I often play is Teamfight Tactics, and I heard there are special rewards this time, so I’m very excited,” Thang said.

According to Thang, he is also interested in the games Arena of Valor and FC Online to fully enjoy the experience.

Tran Le Duy (23 years old), an employee at a game booth at the fair, said that from early morning, many people had come here, creating a very lively atmosphere. "At the booth, I guide people to experience the games; most of them are students from Ho Chi Minh City," Duy said, adding that many young people also came from other provinces and cities, having taken buses early to attend this year's event.

People from the provinces come to Ho Chi Minh City to play free games.

Nguyen Cao Tri (27 years old), from Dong Thap province, said he arrived at 6 a.m. to attend this year's festival, hoping to experience as many games as possible. "I'm looking forward to playing many mini-games to win prizes. From morning until now, I've played more than 20 games, experiencing many new and diverse features that aren't available in the official versions," Tri said.

While enjoying the video games, Nguyen Thi My Anh, a student at Can Tho University, said she has participated in this event for three consecutive years. “This is my third year participating, but the feeling is still the same as the first day because I'm so overwhelmed by the game booths. I especially love the game Arena of Valor, and my favorite character is Alice. Luckily, I won a keychain of my favorite game character in a mini-game,” My Anh confided.

According to the organizers, this year's event brings together more than 100 booths from publishers, allowing gamers to directly experience games, interact with KOLs, and connect with the community. Esports tournaments such as the SEA Esports Nations Cup, along with showmatches and finals for various games like Crossfire, PUBG Mobile, and FC Mobile, will take place throughout the event.
