Ms. Hoang Thi Binh, Head of Cluster 25, TYM Thanh Hoa Branch - Transaction Office No. 02, with a shrimp farm model of nearly 2,000m2 in Nam Sam Son ward.
Early in the morning in the southern Sam Son coastal area, Ms. Hoang Thi Binh from Thuong Du neighborhood was already at her family's shrimp ponds. This is the result of years of diligent labor and life-changing decisions. No one knows that before having her nearly 2,000 square meter shrimp farm today, she had struggled for a long time due to a lack of capital.
Ms. Binh joined TYM - Thanh Hoa Branch in 2018. In the early days, she had many concerns. But with access to capital and the dedicated support of TYM staff, she became more confident in investing in economic development. Starting with small loans, she gradually accumulated production experience and expanded her farming scale. Through several rounds of funding, her family's shrimp farming model gradually took shape and developed. Currently, she has borrowed 65 million VND from TYM's economic development loan program to invest in her shrimp farm. This farm not only provides a stable income for her family but also marks a turning point for a woman who once faced many difficulties in life. Thanks to a more stable economy, she has the means to care for her children's education, build a family, and gradually improve her quality of life. What she cherishes most is the support of TYM – a place that not only provides capital but also instills confidence in rural women to boldly develop their livelihoods. As a cluster leader, she also connects, supports, and shares her experiences with many other members in the cluster. Cluster meetings are not only places for information exchange but also where she inspires women to use loan capital effectively and develop their businesses together.
While many people were still asleep, the kitchen of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy's family in Tien Thang village, Tien Trang commune, was already ablaze with activity. The aroma of noodle soup and pho filled the air, signaling a busy but hopeful new day. Few would imagine that this woman, who owns a noodle and pho stall, was once a poor household in the area, her life dependent on a few acres of rice paddies, with an unstable income, constantly struggling to make ends meet. Without capital or the financial means to invest in production or business, she could only work in the fields, yet still couldn't make ends meet. However, driven by a desire to change her life, she boldly approached TYM - Thanh Hoa Branch with an initial loan of 30 million VND. With that capital, she decided to do something she had never considered before: open a small breakfast stall right in her home.
The early days were not easy for her. From purchasing cooking utensils and furniture to preparing ingredients, she had to carefully calculate everything to use her capital most effectively. But with hard work, skill, and especially a strong sense of food safety and hygiene, her breakfast eatery gradually built a reputation. From the initial regular customers, the place grew busier and busier. Besides serving the villagers, she also accepted small orders for meetings and parties. Her business model not only helped her family achieve economic stability but also created jobs for three local workers. Her positive changes were recognized when, in 2025, her family was honored by the local authorities as a model household in economic development. Furthermore, she boldly participated in social work by running for the position of head of the village women's association and serving on the Executive Board of the local Young Entrepreneurs Association.
Ms. Vu Thi Dung, Deputy Director of TYM - Thanh Hoa Branch, said: "The stories of Ms. Binh and Ms. Thuy are clear evidence of the effectiveness of TYM's microfinance – where small amounts of capital, given at the right time and to the right people, have helped rural women achieve stable lives. This is not just an achievement, but also a motivation for us to continue our mission of accompanying women in development and sustainable poverty reduction. From seemingly small loans, many women have had the opportunity to change their lives and affirm their roles in their families and communities. It is also proof of the humanitarian value that TYM is bringing, where small opportunities created big, sustainable, and hopeful changes for many women on their journey to taking control of their lives."
Currently, TYM - Thanh Hoa Branch operates in 33 communes and wards, 614 clusters, with 19,949 customers. From the beginning of 2026 to the present, the disbursed capital has exceeded VND 242.1 billion; the total outstanding loan balance is over VND 355.5 billion; the savings balance is over VND 175.6 billion, with a repayment rate of 100%. This is proof of the effectiveness of the "Small Loans, Big Value for Women" program that TYM has been implementing for over two decades.
