Each work carries the breath and reality of life flowing every hour, every day in the political, economic and social life of the locality...

Continuing the tradition of 62 years since the first issue of Lao Cai Newspaper (April 10, 1963 - April 10, 2025), with a solid foundation of the previous generation of journalists, we, the current generation of journalists, have been writing new pages of history for Lao Cai Newspaper in the stages we have been attached to. The experiences of journalism have been passed down by generations of reporters, editors, and journalists at Lao Cai Newspaper to the next generation of young reporters, continuing through many historical periods, ups and downs of the locality and the country.

Recalling the early days of my career, my young reporters and I were guided, instructed, and enthusiastically advised by our senior colleagues at Lao Cai Newspaper, helping us in our work at the grassroots level as well as editing and correcting each word and expression in each article. After each time like that, my knowledge and experience in journalism seemed to be filled up and I was more confident in every path of work. In the course of 62 years, I have also made certain contributions to Lao Cai Newspaper for 20 years now. Regardless of my position, I am always proud of my writing career and always strive with all my heart and soul to become a professional journalist, confident in every path of work.

The grassroots trips have given writers like me a lot of positive energy, making me love life even more. The highland villages, the examples of overcoming difficulties to rise up in life, the cultural identity of the ethnic groups in Lao Cai have nurtured my emotions. As a female journalist, facing countless difficulties, but with the discipline forged in a professional journalism environment at Lao Cai Newspaper, I have confidently overcome obstacles, to bring information to readers as quickly and honestly as possible. The prestige and position of Lao Cai Newspaper is increasingly affirmed - becoming a common home for professional journalists, a place for writers to freely indulge their passion, creating high-quality journalistic works.

Over the past time, my colleagues and I at Lao Cai Newspaper have made many contributions to the overall achievements of Lao Cai provincial journalism, and have been recognized with annual awards at the provincial and central levels. I have won the Encouragement Prize of the National Journalism Award; been a finalist for the National Golden Hammer and Sickle Award; the A prize for provincial journalism, the A prize for the writing contest on Party building... In 2023, I received the Special Prize for the Writing Contest on Green Architecture organized by the Ministry of Construction. However, for me and many colleagues in journalism, we all understand a simple thing: the most precious reward for a writer is to gain the trust and love of readers.

With the orientation of taking print newspapers as the foundation and electronic newspapers as the spearhead to create a breakthrough, Lao Cai Newspaper has set a development goal in the coming time to become the province's main multimedia media agency, taking the lead in providing official information about Lao Cai, contributing to orienting public opinion. In the general development flow and that orientation, I and the people working at Lao Cai Newspaper have placed ourselves in a constant state of innovation and self-renewal. On the basis of firmly pursuing the ideal goal in accordance with the newspaper's principles and purposes, I have trained myself and improved my professional skills in modern journalism, especially in the era of rapid digital transformation like today.

Now, I, as well as other reporters and editors, have mastered the professional operations and journalism processes in the direction of a convergent editorial office, actively producing modern, attractive and engaging journalistic works for readers. The contributions of each reporter, editor and technician are all aimed at raising the status of Lao Cai Newspaper...

Not to mention, keeping up with the digital life, Lao Cai Newspaper's fanpage and youtube have spread the journalistic works of reporters more widely to many readers on the internet. That keeping up with the pace was marked when in 2024, Lao Cai Newspaper was ranked excellent in terms of maturity in digital transformation of journalism, ranking 2nd in the list of 62 local press units nationwide.

The journey of 20 years of journalism is not long, but it is also a journey that has left an impression on me about my own journalism life. Joining the 62-year flow of Lao Cai Newspaper, my colleagues and I in the editorial office are always proud to be in the common house - where we have been and are attached to.

From this April, Lao Cai Newspaper will embark on a new journey in its 62-year history, gaining more strength from the television and radio journalism forms after the policy of streamlining and merging local press agencies. My colleagues and I will have the opportunity to indulge our passion for journalism in a new field with a new mindset, dedication, and devotion to work, contributing to spreading good and humane things, creating trust in society on every page of the newspaper, on radio and television programs and online newspapers...
