Attractive border Sim flower festival from May 17-18

Sim flowers at the border have become the brand of tourism in the Hai Son-Mong Cai border area.

Since 2022, the Border Sim Flower Festival has been officially held, associated with community tourism development activities in Hai Son commune. Thereby, it not only contributes to promoting the sacred land where soldiers and people are the living milestones of the people, the living milestones of Vietnamese culture in the border of the Fatherland, but also a way to bring people here to participate in community tourism activities, increase income, improve the lives of people. At the same time, this is also an activity for Mong Cai to continue to concretize and implement programs and plans on developing tourism into a key economic sector and developing the national tourist area of ​​Tra Co, Mong Cai, Quang Ninh.

Hai Son has a beautiful landscape with special values ​​such as: Po Hen National Historical Site, the colorful mural village in the middle of the Northeast mountains and forests, 72-chamber waterfall - Trang Vinh lake, Panai Mountain, Ma Thau Son, Sim Hill and many unique traditional cultural and artistic features, special culinary arts, unique folk games... of the ethnic people here, mainly ethnic minorities. In recent years, with the attention of the Party and the State, the spirit of hard work and overcoming difficulties of the people, the material and spiritual life of the people of Hai Son has changed dramatically. People actively develop the economy, including tourism and services. And the Border Sim Flower Festival, which has been held four times, is an opportunity for people to participate in the tourism economy and quickly improve tourism services in a professional and modern direction, but still has the characteristics and promotes the cultural identity of the ethnic minority region, creating a distinct and outstanding mark in the Mong Cai tourism journey.

Coming to the Border Sim Flower Festival, visitors will be immersed in unique cultural activities, rich in national identity, community tourism experiences and especially have the opportunity to enjoy specialties of the Dao and San Chi ethnic minorities such as: Khau nhuc, chicken, duck, goose, pickled cucumbers, galangal salted plums, tau xi, salted radish...; traditional cakes such as: humpbacked Chung cake, long Chung cake, ash cake, three-color rice...

Activities aim to preserve, promote, honor, introduce, advertise images, potential advantages and exploit traditional and unique cultural values ​​of ethnic groups in Mong Cai city in general and Hai Son commune People's Committee, border mountainous communes in particular; attract tourists to visit, experience, create jobs and increase income for people.

Every year, this festival attracts tens of thousands of locals and tourists to attend, affirming the value of new tourism products associated with the development of spiritual tourism, experiential tourism and community tourism in Hai Son commune, contributing to preserving and promoting the unique cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities; creating jobs and increasing income for people thanks to tourism.

More specifically, the 2025 Border Sim Flower Festival has a very prominent activity that is highly anticipated, which is the Mong Cai Half Marathon with thousands of athletes from all regions participating. Athletes will have a unique opportunity to admire the purple Sim hills, participate in unique cultural activities: folk games, women's football, fairs, highland cuisine (hill chicken, stream fish, local pigs, five-color sticky rice...) and the opportunity to experience the cultural space of ethnic groups, booths displaying local products and many interesting surprises. The Sim Flower Festival is the touch point of emotions - where nature, sports and culture converge, opening up a journey of discovery full of energy and uniqueness of Mong Cai. Mong Cai Half Marathon 2025 will officially take place on May 17-18, 2025, within the framework of the Border Sim Flower Festival - an event not to be missed by those who love running, nature and Vietnamese culture.

Currently, preparations for the 2025 Border Sim Flower Festival are being rushed to complete the most thoughtful and impressive parts. With good weather conditions, the sim hills here are bright with loyal purple color, blooming invitingly like the hearts of the people eagerly waiting for visitors.
