In the 43rd minute, Harry Kane received the ball in the center of the pitch from a pass by Thomas Muller. He controlled the ball and curled a shot into the top corner of the near post from about 20 meters, beating goalkeeper Koen Casteels and increasing Bayern Munich's lead to 2-0 in their away match against Wolfsburg.

Earlier, Thomas Muller also contributed an assist for Jamal Musiala's opening goal in the 33rd minute. The 34-year-old striker crossed the ball from the right for Musiala to head it into the top corner, giving Musiala the lead.

Trailing by two goals, the home team Wolfsburg rediscovered hope of securing a point when Maximilian Arnold scored to reduce the deficit to 1-2 in the 45+1 minute.

However, Bayern Munich played a tight defensive game throughout the second half to preserve the scoreline and ultimately win 2-1 against Wolfsburg.

This victory brings Thomas Tuchel's team just one point behind Bayer Leverkusen, who currently hold the top spot in the 2023/24 Bundesliga.

For Harry Kane, the goal in this match helped him widen the gap in the race for the European Golden Boot, with 21 goals in the Bundesliga this season across just 15 games. In the top five European football leagues, Kylian Mbappe is second, with three goals fewer than Harry Kane.

Harry Kane's current goal tally is higher than that of the two players who won the Bundesliga Golden Boot last season: Christopher Nkunku and Niclas Fullkrug.

If Harry Kane continues to score in the remaining three matches of the 2023/24 Bundesliga season, he will break Robert Lewandowski's record for most goals scored in the first half of the season (22 goals).

The English striker is also predicted to break the all-time Bundesliga goalscoring record also held by Robert Lewandowski (41) if he continues to maintain his form and does not suffer injuries this season.

Harry Kane said after Bayern's victory over Wolfsburg: "If the league finishes in April, of course I will try to break the record. As far as I know, that's Robert Lewandowski with 41 goals."

There's still a long way to go. Robert Lewandowski has played brilliantly for the club and is one of the best strikers in the world in recent times.

We still have a long way to go to get there, but I have to keep doing what I'm doing."
