Thieu Hoa creates a "boost" for the development of OCOP products.

With a support policy for entities successfully developing OCOP products that achieve 3-star and 4-star ratings, corresponding to support levels of 100 million VND and 200 million VND per newly recognized product, and 50 million VND and 100 million VND per re-recognized product, this is creating a "boost" to help Thieu Hoa commune develop OCOP-certified products.

Mr. Le Van Tinh, deputy director of Thieu Hung Agricultural Cooperative, introduced Korean milk grapes - a product that the cooperative is developing into a 3-star OCOP product by 2026.

The Thieu Hung Agricultural Service Cooperative currently has two products, Van Ha yellow melon and baby cucumber, that were recognized as 4-star OCOP products by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in 2021 and 2022. Both certificates for these OCOP products have expired after 36 months from the date of issuance by the competent authority, so the cooperative is completing the necessary paperwork for re-recognition.

Speaking about the development of OCOP products by the cooperative, Mr. Le Van Tinh, deputy director of Thieu Hung Agricultural Service Cooperative, said: "Re-recognizing the 4-star OCOP product is necessary because it is a 'brand' that has been affirmed by product quality to consumers. Furthermore, the fact that Thieu Hoa commune has just issued a policy to support businesses when developing new products or re-recognizing them creates additional motivation for the cooperative to re-apply for recognition of the two expired 4-star OCOP products."

According to Mr. Tinh, in addition to the two products mentioned above, the cooperative is also developing another product, milk grapes, to achieve OCOP 3-star status in 2026, and the product will be ready for harvest in about a month.

Leading us on a tour of his vineyard with its clusters of plump grapes, Mr. Tinh shared: "We consider Korean milk grapes to be 'aristocratic' grapes because the variety is expensive and difficult to cultivate. However, thanks to strict adherence to technical measures and care methods according to VietGAP standards, the 0.4 hectares of grapes grown in the greenhouse promise high yields and beautiful fruit quality."

According to Mr. Tinh, although there is still more than a month before the milk grapes are ready for harvest, the cooperative is finalizing the procedures to register for a 3-star OCOP product. The unit is striving for this product to be recognized as an OCOP product in 2026.

Resolution No. 03/NQ-HĐND dated March 6, 2026, of the People's Council of Thieu Hoa Commune on "Financial support for the construction, renovation, and upgrading of rural infrastructure and the development of agricultural production and OCOP products in Thieu Hoa Commune in 2026," stipulates that in addition to the policy of providing financial support to villages and neighborhoods for the construction, renovation, and upgrading of rural infrastructure such as paving rural roads, installing lighting systems, and installing and using centralized clean water systems, there is also a policy for the development of agricultural production and OCOP products. Accordingly, support will be provided to entities that successfully develop OCOP products at specific levels. The support funds will be received after the recognition decision from the competent authority and after all necessary settlement documents are submitted as required.

Mr. Le Cao Quy, Head of the Economic Department of Thieu Hoa commune, said: "The policy supporting the development of OCOP products acts as a 'boost' to motivate businesses, cooperatives, cooperative groups, households, and individuals in the area to participate in building and developing products that achieve OCOP 3-star rating at the provincial level or higher."
