Let's work together to protect the environment.
The Women's Union of Xuan Cam commune recently launched three self-managed "bright, green, clean, and safe" road sections in the villages of the commune, with a total length of nearly 5 km. The selected road sections are all at least 7 meters wide, equipped with lighting systems, security cameras, and planted with flowers and trees on both sides, creating a clean and beautiful landscape, contributing to improving the quality of life for residents and ensuring traffic safety.

Female officials and members of the Women's Association in Canh Thuy ward are actively planting and caring for trees in the "Women's Flower Street" projects. |
Ms. Ngo Thi Thuy, President of the Women's Union of Xuan Cam commune, shared: "After completion, the roads become vibrant with colorful flowers and are illuminated at night, not only contributing to changing the face of the rural area but also creating favorable and safe conditions for people in their daily lives and travel."
This is clear evidence of the pivotal role of women in the new rural development movement, while also spreading a spirit of responsibility and community awareness in preserving the living environment.”
| Since the beginning of the year, local branches of the Women's Union have organized more than 23,000 environmental sanitation campaigns, sweeping nearly 49,000 km of village roads and alleys; collecting hundreds of cubic meters of waste; planting more than 128,000 new trees and over 36 km of flower-lined roads. Throughout the province, 172 "Green House" models have been maintained and expanded, collecting and selling recyclable waste to raise funds to support disadvantaged women and children, contributing to spreading the spirit of sharing in the community. |
To maintain effectiveness, the Association has established self-governing women's groups, assigning members to regularly participate in environmental sanitation, tree care, and lighting system inspections; and coordinating with functional forces to monitor security and order through camera systems.
In addition, it is important to promote awareness among the public about maintaining environmental hygiene and preventing encroachment on roads and sidewalks, thereby contributing to the development of civilized residential areas.
In Gia Binh, the Women's Union of the commune continues to maintain and expand many effective environmental protection models. A notable example is the model of producing IMO microbial preparations for treating organic waste at the source, implemented by the Phu Du village Women's Union branch. On average, the branch produces 50 liters of IMO preparation twice a month, with raw material costs of approximately 100,000 VND per batch.
This approach not only helps reduce household waste but also addresses pollution at some centralized landfills using IMO microbial technology; creates organic fertilizer for agricultural production and plant care, saves costs, and raises awareness of waste sorting at source.
In addition, the Association effectively maintains 16 "Green Houses," collecting scrap materials to raise funds for environmental protection and social welfare, earning nearly 16 million VND from the sale of scrap; it also maintains and cares for 27 sections of flower-lined roads, regularly organizes environmental sanitation, plants and cares for trees, contributing to the construction of rural landscapes.
Many practical models
Along with promoting patriotic emulation movements, the Women's Union at all levels in the province has actively implemented many practical activities to protect the environment, respond to climate change, and build a civilized lifestyle in the community.
Through concrete and practical actions in daily life, female officials and members have contributed to spreading a green lifestyle and raising awareness of environmental protection in each family and residential area.

The "Green House" model has been effectively implemented by women's associations in Dong Ky commune. |
Implementing the campaign to build families based on the "5 no's, 3 clean, 3 safe" principles, linked with the movement to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas, all levels of the Women's Union have simultaneously launched a comprehensive environmental sanitation campaign, sorted waste at source, planted trees, and responded to the movement against plastic waste.
Many practical and effective models continue to be maintained and expanded, such as: "Green House," "Women's Flower Street," "3 Clean Villages/Neighborhoods," "Waste-Free Residential Areas," "Green Sunday," "Turning Waste into Gifts," etc.
Since the beginning of the year, local branches of the Association have organized more than 23,000 environmental sanitation campaigns, sweeping nearly 49,000 km of village roads and alleys; collecting hundreds of cubic meters of waste; planting more than 128,000 new trees and more than 36 km of flower-lined roads.
The entire province maintains and expands 172 "Green House" models, collecting and selling recyclable waste to raise funds to support disadvantaged women and children, contributing to spreading the spirit of sharing in the community.
Many localities have adopted creative and effective approaches that have created a strong ripple effect, such as: the Women's Association of Tien Phong ward launching the "Phong Linh Tree Row"; the Women's Associations of Hap Linh, Dong Nguyen, and Tu Son wards organizing a program to exchange waste for green trees; and the Women's Associations of Dong Ky, Xuan Cam, Lam Thao, and Nha Nam communes actively planting and caring for women's flower-lined roads...
Ms. Nguyen Phuong Mai, President of the Provincial Women's Union, assessed: "Environmental protection activities implemented by the Women's Union at all levels are gradually becoming more systematic, creating a clear transformation in the awareness and actions of female cadres and members. Many models are effectively maintained and suitable to the actual conditions at the grassroots level, thereby contributing to improving the living environment, building new rural areas and civilized, modern urban areas."
