Currently, the Department of Home Affairs has 6 specialized departments and equivalents and 3 affiliated units including: Emulation and Reward Committee, Religious Committee and Provincial Archives Center. The total number of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers present at the Department is 81 people.

In the period of 2022-2023, the management of staffing at the department is strictly implemented and in accordance with current regulations. Specifically, in 2022, the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee assigned 73 civil servant positions to the department, of which 70 people are working, and 3 positions have not been used. In 2023, the number of assigned positions decreased to 71, with 67 people present and 4 positions still unused. Regarding labor contracts, in 2022 and 2023, the Department was assigned 7 contracts, of which 5 people were recruited.

Regarding the civil servant establishment, the number assigned in 2022 and 2023 is 10 establishments, of which 9 establishments are present and 1 establishment is unused.
The work of streamlining the payroll at the Department is being seriously implemented in accordance with the Government 's regulations. In 2023, the Department has implemented the streamlining of 1 civil servant. It is expected that from 2024 to 2026, the Department of Home Affairs will not have any more cases of civil servants or public employees retiring or being subject to staff streamlining.
The work of reorganizing the Department's apparatus is carried out synchronously, streamlined, scientifically , ensuring effective operation. The functions and tasks of each department, division and affiliated unit are clearly defined, helping to enhance management effectiveness.

The Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee highly appreciated the efforts of the Department of Home Affairs in implementing the Job Position Project, along with the management and use of payroll.
However, during the inspection process, the Supervisory Team pointed out some shortcomings such as the files lacked regulations; some recruitment files did not have the signatures of the employees. The Supervisory Team requested the Department of Home Affairs to guide departments and branches to review the implementation of the Job Position Project, and at the same time re-evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation in practice. The work of appointment and re-appointment needs to be implemented to ensure the right time according to regulations. The Department of Home Affairs reviews and re-evaluates the effectiveness of operations and considers merging some units under the current departments.
