According to Apple Insider, the thinnest iPhone will launch in 2025, possibly under the name Slim. The Information reports that the device has the code D23 and will feature a new design to bring about a major change. Recently, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also released a series of specifications for this model.

- Ultra-thin smartphones
The iPhone SE is currently Apple's thinnest smartphone at 7.3mm, while the iPad Pro with the M4 chip is the company's thinnest mobile device at 5.1mm. The Slim is expected to be even thinner than the SE, but it's unclear whether it will be the company's thinnest device.
- Replacement for iPhone 17 Plus
The iPhone 17 series will launch in 2025 with four models, with the iPhone 17 Plus being replaced by the iPhone 17 Slim. Ming-Chi Kuo stated that this decision is based on the consistently low sales of the Plus models, accounting for less than 10% of sales for many years.
- Smaller screen than the Plus version
According to Information, the iPhone 17 Slim will have a 6.6-inch screen, while other sources suggest the size could be between 6.1 and 6.6 inches (the Plus version will have a screen of approximately 6.7 inches, and Ming-Chi Kuo also revealed similar specifications).
The device supports 120Hz ProMotion and LTPO technology, with a resolution of 2,740 x 1,260 pixels, lower than the 2,796 x 1,290 resolution of the iPhone 15 Plus.
- Camera
With its ultra-thin design, the iPhone 17 Slim will likely only use a single wide-angle lens instead of two or three like the other versions. Furthermore, analysts suggest that reducing the thickness could lead to shorter battery life unless Apple finds a way to free up space for components.
- The most expensive iPhone in history
The rumored iPhone 17 Slim is expected to be very expensive, positioned similarly to the Ultra line on the Apple Watch. The iPhone 17 is predicted to have a starting price of $799, the 17 Pro at $1,099, the 17 Pro Max at $1,199, while the most expensive 17 Slim will cost up to $1,299.
