The Mate 70 series is expected to include four models: Mate 70, Mate 70 Pro, Mate 70 Pro+, and Mate 70 Ultimate Design.
Recently, leaker Digital Chat Station revealed some important information about the Mate 70 Pro.
Accordingly, the Huawei Mate 70 Pro may be equipped with a slightly curved LTPO OLED display on all four edges, measuring up to 6.88 inches. The screen will have a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, integrating a 3D ToF sensor for fast and secure facial recognition.
The source also revealed that the Mate 70 Pro's main camera will use a 50MP sensor with a 1/1.3-inch size and integrated physical aperture control. It's highly likely this is the Omnivision OV50H sensor currently used in the Pura 70 Pro.
The Mate 70 Pro's periscope camera has also been upgraded with a brand-new 50MP sensor, supporting 3.5X optical zoom and integrated macro photography. This will be a significant improvement over the 48MP periscope camera of the Mate 60 Pro.
However, leaks reveal that the device will not use an in-display fingerprint sensor; instead, the fingerprint sensor will be moved to the side and integrated with the power button.
The device is said to support 100W fast charging, 80W wireless charging, and the high-end IP68/69 water resistance rating. Although the battery capacity has not been revealed, Digital Chat Station suggests it will not exceed 6,000mAh.
The Mate 70 is the first smartphone series to come pre-installed with Huawei's own HarmonyOS NEXT operating system – marking complete independence from Android.
