"A drop of red blood" symbolizes the deep human connection in the coastal region.

On the morning of May 25th, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation in Phan Ngoc Hien Commune, in coordination with the Can Tho Hematology and Blood Transfusion Hospital, organized the first blood donation event of 2026.

With the theme "80 Years of Compassionate Journey for the Community," the event attracted a large number of officials, soldiers, civil servants, teachers, workers, and people from the three communes of Phan Ngoc Hien, Tan An, and Dat Mui to participate.

Over nearly a day of blood donation, Can Tho Hematology and Blood Transfusion Hospital received 106 units of blood, supplementing its blood reserves for emergency care and patient treatment.

A large number of officials, civil servants, employees, soldiers of the armed forces, workers, and people in the three communes participated in the blood donation day.

Ms. Ngo Kim Len, Secretary of the Youth Union of Rach Goc Hamlet, Phan Ngoc Hien Commune, shared: “This is my first time participating in blood donation, and I feel very happy to be able to contribute to helping those who need blood for treatment. I will continue to participate and encourage more people to join this meaningful activity.”

Having donated blood 14 times, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Duong (a teacher at Phan Ngoc Hien Primary School No. 1) believes that donating blood to save lives is a noble act, demonstrating the spirit of "loving others as you love yourself," spreading love and responsibility to the community.
