The potential of AI in education is enormous.
At London Technology Week in June 2023, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak suggested that AI could be used to enhance personalized learning experiences for students. Following this statement, the public began to pay attention to the potential of AI in education.
As the Prime Minister shared, AI helps to personalize the learning process. AI can analyze each student's learning process based on data about study time, scores achieved, level of understanding for each lesson and subject, etc. From there, it can provide learning materials and exercise banks that suit the needs, abilities, and learning styles of each learner. This allows learners to study at their own pace to promote effective learning.

Furthermore, AI also provides new learning tools such as chatbots, intelligent learning systems, and virtual teachers. Previously, learners who didn't understand a lesson had to wait until class to ask the teacher for help; now, AI provides instant support, allowing learners to ask questions anytime, anywhere, leading to the best learning experience and creating a positive learning environment.
AI technology also creates flexible learning possibilities. Learners can access educational materials and lectures remotely through AI-optimized online learning applications and platforms. This opens the door to geographically unrestricted learning, giving learners more autonomy in managing their study time.

Beyond offering learning potential for students, AI also helps teachers manage and operate classrooms more effectively. This is achieved through assisting teachers in creating automated tests, brainstorming lesson ideas, and more. Furthermore, AI systems help teachers quickly and comprehensively assess student progress and grades. This allows teachers to dedicate more time to creating engaging activities in each lesson, improving teaching quality without spending excessive time on grading. AI can also automate many tasks related to paperwork, procedures, and documentation, freeing up teachers' time for professional development.
Understanding AI to use it effectively.
Currently, the application of AI in teaching is being incorporated into educational programs in many countries. For example, South Korea has introduced AI-powered systems to tailor homework assignments based on students' learning abilities. In India, the educational technology company Embibe uses AI to explain complex scientific and mathematical concepts. In Finland, AI is integrated into the education system through free online courses and instant feedback platforms such as ViLLE…
However, AI also raises concerns among many teachers, parents, and education administrators regarding data security and privacy issues, as well as the risk of over-reliance on technology…
However, we also need to understand that the application of AI in education is not about replacing teachers with humanoid robots, but rather about applying the superior features and capabilities of AI technology to assist teachers and students. Therefore, instead of worrying, teachers, students, and even parents can thoroughly research AI to use it effectively.
Recently, the Khan Academy Vietnam team officially completed the localization of the AI for Education course, specifically designed for teachers, education administrators, parents, and students. The AI for Education course is a collaboration between Khan Academy and leading experts in the field of educational technology, including Code.org, Common Sense Education, aiEDU, Professor Ethan, and Professor Lilach Mollick. Through 12 lessons (including 16 videos and 17 theoretical readings), the course provides learners with foundational knowledge about artificial intelligence (AI), including its concept, operation, benefits, as well as the challenges and risks it brings to our lives. At the same time, the course equips teachers and parents with the necessary knowledge to support and guide their children or students in applying AI to learning correctly and safely through lesson plans and guidance on organizing AI-related learning activities for students.
In particular, the course is very suitable for teachers as it introduces and provides them with methods for applying AI to teaching to create fun, personalized, interactive, and engaging experiences, thereby promoting student learning; saving time and reducing workload for teachers; and helping teachers become more confident in guiding in the rapidly changing era of AI.
