New images of iOS 19

iOS 19 continues to be revealed with new app icons and a more polished interface.

In a video posted on April 8th, leaker Jon Prosser continued to share a series of images believed to be the design of iOS 19, Apple's upcoming operating system set to launch in June.

According to Prosser, the renders in the video were designed based on "real footage" provided by internal sources. If the rumors are accurate, this would be one of the biggest iOS upgrades ever.

Based on rumors, iOS 19 will have a sleeker design, inspired by visionOS. According to MacRumors , this style is expected to be applied to many interface elements such as buttons, menus, notifications, etc.

In fact, this information has appeared in numerous previous rumors. The new detail in the video is that the app icons in iOS 19 are more strongly rounded. However, Prosser could not confirm whether they are completely round like visionOS.

Prosser stated that the circular icon is hidden in internal iOS 19 builds. According to the description, the icon only turns circular when pressed and held. It's likely Apple is concealing this change until iOS 19 is released at WWDC 2025.

Another notable change is that the menu bar at the bottom of the screen has been changed to a pill-shaped icon. The video shows the new design in default apps including the App Store, Apple Music, Apple TV, Messages, and Phone.

When you tap the Search tab, a pill-shaped search bar appears at the bottom, along with a circular button to the left to return to the menu bar. The video also shows the new effect when users switch between tabs.

The build also reveals several more rounded interface elements, including the options menu when you long-press an icon on the home screen, and the volume and brightness sliders in the Control Center. The camera and microphone access permission window (pictured) also has a new design.

The interface changes also extend to the Settings app. Previously, Prosser shared renders of the Camera app on iOS 19 with the new design.

According to Prosser, iOS 19 also adds lighting effects to some elements, creating a glossy, glass-like interface. For example, the flashlight and camera buttons on the lock screen will sparkle when the user moves the iPhone.

The new iOS 19 design feels "rounded, sleek, and almost glass-like." The boundaries between interface elements such as pop-ups, icons, and the keyboard appear to "rise from the screen."

The annual WWDC 2025 developer conference will take place starting on June 9th. Unless something changes, Apple will introduce iOS 19 along with a series of other upgrades there.
