DNVN - In his keynote address at the AWS Summit Washington DC 2024 conference held at the end of June 2024, Amazon Web Services (AWS) Vice President for Global Public Sector, Dave Levy, highlighted the rapid pace of artificial intelligence (AI) innovation generated in the public sector.
Public sector leaders are seeking to use generative AI to enhance organizational efficiency and agility. However, public sector organizations face several challenges, including optimizing resources, responding to constantly changing needs, improving patient care, personalizing educational experiences, and strengthening security.
To address these challenges, AWS is committed to helping organizations in the region unlock the potential of generative AI and other cloud technologies to create a positive societal impact.
According to Dave Levy, the AWS Worldwide Public Sector Generative AI Impact initiative is a $50 million commitment over two years aimed at helping public sector organizations accelerate innovation in generative AI.
This global initiative is effective from June 26, 2024 to June 30, 2026, and its benefits and resources include:
On-demand training: The latest training courses help achieve market access goals and meet business needs.
The AI Generation Innovation Center's expertise includes: conceptualizing, identifying, and securely deploying AI generation solutions under the guidance of the AI Generation Innovation Center.
Technical support: Learn from AWS experts and technical guidance to optimize AI generation applications with the Well-Architected Framework.
Connect and join developer sessions for free: Access the link to register for free at AWS Summit events worldwide .
Global publicity opportunity: Showcase the success stories of the AWS Generative AI Impact initiative through AWS marketing activities.
The AWS Public Sector Generative AI Impact initiative builds on our ongoing commitment to developing safe, secure, and responsible AI technology. For example, AWS is a contributing partner to the National Artificial Intelligence Research Resource Pilot (NAIRR) program of the National Science Foundation, providing researchers and educators in the U.S. with access to advanced computing services, datasets, models, software, training, and user support for AI research.
Additionally, Amazon is a member of the Artificial Intelligence Security Institute, an organization founded by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Amazon has contributed $5 million to support the development of tools and methodologies that organizations can use to assess the security of their platform models. AWS is also committed to supporting initiatives such as the AI for Changemakers Accelerator program, led by Tech To The Rescue, which includes the Now Go Build CTO Scholarship program led by AWS Chief Technology Officer Werner Vogels.
