According to initial reports, in the past few days, approximately 200 tons of fish raised in cages by local people in Tri An Lake have died, mainly carp and catfish.
Along with supporting the people, the People's Committee of Tri An Ward also reported to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dong Nai City to send professional staff to the scene to clarify the cause of the mass fish deaths, and at the same time requested the People's Committee of Dong Nai City to provide solutions to support the affected people.

According to some fish farmers, previous years have seen fish deaths during periods of heavy rain and high stocking densities reducing oxygen levels, but the number was not significant. This year, however, a large number of fish have died en masse, for reasons yet unknown. Currently, households are selling off the remaining live fish to minimize losses.
