The current Honda City in Vietnam is an upgraded version of the 5th generation, increasing its competitiveness in the B-segment sedan market. While the exterior design hasn't changed much, significant upgrades have been made to its features and safety.
According to the latest update, Honda Vietnam is offering a 50% discount on registration fees for customers purchasing the Honda City RS, equivalent to over 30 million VND, along with one year of comprehensive insurance. Notably, the Honda City G and L versions receive a discount of up to 100% on registration fees this August.
Note: The above on-the-road price for the Honda City does not include any discounts. Customers can contact authorized dealers for more details.
In terms of appearance, the Honda City features some minor improvements to the front end with a honeycomb grille and a large chrome strip. The air intakes on either side have also been redesigned to integrate LED fog lights. The 15-inch polished alloy wheels and prominent taillights remain the same, but the air intakes have been made larger, enhancing the car's sportier look.
The cockpit remains unchanged from the previous version, featuring analog gauges combined with a 4.2-inch color screen behind the steering wheel. The infotainment system boasts an 8-inch touchscreen, supporting Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity. Features exclusive to the RS and L trims include single-zone automatic climate control, rear air vents, an 8-speaker sound system (4 speakers on the G trim), and remote vehicle start.
Honda retains the 1.5-liter gasoline engine for the new City, a 4-cylinder engine with a 1.5-liter displacement, producing 119 horsepower and a maximum torque of 145 Nm. It uses a CVT continuously variable transmission. The stated combined fuel consumption is 5.6 liters/100 km.
One of the strengths of the Honda City is its Honda Sensing safety package, which includes features such as collision mitigation braking, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control. These features help the Honda City stand out from competitors like the Toyota Vios and Hyundai Accent in terms of customer safety.
