
During a working session with the Ca Mau Provincial Department of Science and Technology on May 20th, Comrade Nguyen Ho Hai, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee, requested the Department of Science and Technology to continue closely adhering to the resolutions of the Central and local authorities, focusing on Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo, in order to advise on and implement science, technology, and digital transformation tasks in a substantive, focused, and targeted manner.
The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized: "Each task must clearly define its output, timeline, and responsibilities, ensuring that science is closely linked to practice and leveraging local strengths."

While commending the efforts and achievements of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology over the past period, the head of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee also noted that the unit must have a strategy for training young human resources from an early age and from a distance by closely monitoring students and commissioning specialized training in specific fields. This is one of the fundamental solutions to building a high-quality successor team for the digital age.

The Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee affirmed: "Digital infrastructure and digital data are not just tools, but national assets, a golden resource for breakthroughs. Focusing on building synchronized digital platforms is a vital task for Ca Mau to join the nationwide digital transformation."

Reporting at the working session with the delegation led by the Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee, the Director of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Nguyen Phuong Bac, stated that in 2025, the Department organized advisory councils to select and implement 15 projects (achieving 107% of the plan), and completed and accepted 21 projects (achieving 110.5% of the plan).

The projects mainly focus on applied research, serving the fisheries, agriculture, and forestry sectors – the economic pillars of the province. Entering 2026, the Department will continue to select 14 provincial-level research topics and projects, of which 12 have been evaluated as meeting high quality standards.
Regarding telecommunications infrastructure and digital transformation, Ca Mau has achieved 100% coverage of fiber optic cables and 3G/4G signals in all communes and wards. All administrative agencies at all levels are connected to the dedicated data transmission network, creating a solid foundation for implementing Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo.
By the end of 2025, Ca Mau had successfully completed 130 out of 168 tasks on the monitoring system. However, the mechanism for attracting businesses to invest in scientific research still faces limitations due to the lack of a specific legal framework…
