TP-Link, a WiFi equipment provider, has just announced the Archer 8, the world's first WiFi 8 router built to the IEEE 802.11bn standard, the next-generation connectivity standard aimed at high reliability in real-world conditions.

In tests simulating real-world home usage conditions, TP-Link noted several significant improvements of WiFi 8 compared to WiFi 7 at the same distance and signal conditions: a 33% increase in throughput thanks to improved modulation and signal encoding technology, maintaining faster and more stable speeds over long distances; a 15% improvement in performance between multiple access points in high-interference environments thanks to enhanced space-reusing coordination technology; a 30% increase in signal performance in multi-story environments with single-device connections and a 10%-20% improvement in multi-device environments thanks to advanced antenna architecture combined with AI optimization… WiFi 8 is expected to be available in October 2026.
