On the morning of May 31st, over 151,000 candidates taking the 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City were present at 142 examination centers to complete the necessary procedures. This is the largest number of candidates ever for the 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City.
At the exam site at Ha Huy Tap Secondary School (Ba Diem commune), a large number of parents and candidates were already waiting in front of the school gate from early morning.

Candidates should double-check their registration number and exam room location.

Many candidates arrived at the exam site feeling relaxed.

Candidates were delighted to meet old classmates at the exam site.
Em To Uyen, a student from To Ky Secondary School, said she didn't feel pressured before the first exam thanks to her scientific preparation. Uyen registered for three preferences: Nguyen Huu Tien High School, Pham Van Sang High School, and Thoi An High School.
"All my aspirations were carefully considered based on guidance and advice from the school and my family, helping me to feel comfortable and confident before entering the exam room," Uyen shared.
Hong Tigon, a student at Nguyen Hong Dao Secondary School, said she only submitted two applications. Her first choice was Ly Thuong Kiet High School, and her second choice was Nguyen Van Cu High School.
"I have systematically organized the evidence for my social commentary essay and equipped myself with the strongest mindset to be determined to 'score points' right from the first exam," Tigon confidently said.
Mr. Ho Ngoc Dang Khoa, Head of the examination center at Ha Huy Tap Secondary School (Ba Diem commune), said that preparations at this examination center have been completed and are ready for the official exam.
According to Mr. Khoa, the new and most stressful aspect for the examination board is that the exam papers are handed over one day before the exam. Keeping the exam papers and answer sheets overnight outside of exam hours requires extremely strict security measures.
"This examination center has 30 examination rooms with 24 candidates in each room. Among them, there was a special case of a candidate who had a broken left arm. However, because the student is right-handed and can still write independently, the examination center reported this to the Department of Education and Training so that the student could participate in the exam in the same room as the other candidates, ensuring the most comfortable experience for the candidate," Mr. Khoa added.

The invigilator explained the exam regulations and reminded candidates of the items that are not allowed in the examination room.
At the exam center at Phuoc Long High School (Phuoc Long ward), Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, the head of the exam center, said there are 33 exam rooms, 122 staff members serving the exam, and 788 candidates.
This exam center has one special candidate, Van Phu Quang Huy, a student from Phuoc Binh Secondary School, who broke his leg in a football accident two weeks ago.

Ms. Ha said that in this case, arrangements were made so that parents could drop their children off directly at the school. Huy also chose to participate in the general exam room according to his exam notification along with other students. In addition, when going up the stairs, the candidate was assisted by security guards who carried him to the exam room.
Tomorrow morning, June 1st, candidates will begin their first exam - Literature, with a time limit of 120 minutes.
