With a strong appreciation for traditional materials, designer Cao Minh Tien is always concerned with the question of how to integrate Vietnamese cultural identity into the world fashion flow and promote national culture closer to young people as well as daily life. This obsession became a source of creative inspiration for him when returning to the Aquafina catwalk at Vietnam International Fashion Week Fall Winter 2024.
In the spirit of #FashionEvolution this year, designer Cao Minh Tien has introduced the “Dung Dinh” collection - made from rare Japanese brocade, combined with motifs imbued with Vietnamese culture, not only recreating traditional beauty but also creating a cultural exchange imbued with art. Each design is a harmony that is both solemn and liberal, in harmony with the concept of “dung dinh” - the leisurely, slow pace in every creative line.
With all the love from traditional materials, inspiration from high-class brocade and sophisticated patterns, designer Cao Minh Tien decided to choose Obi fabric - a precious traditional fabric from Japan as a special highlight for his "Dung Dinh" collection.
Designer Cao Minh Tien cleverly borrowed the language of fashion to tell the story of the “Dung Dinh” collection in two separate parts. In part one of the collection, designer Cao Minh Tien confided to the audience about the journey of meticulously refining the initial sketches to the final product.
In the second performance, the collection returned to the typical features of designer Cao Minh Tien, "promoting" Vietnamese folk materials. Already "familiar", this was the first time that designer Cao Minh Tien breathed life into the "Mother Goddess Worship" collection called "Dung Dinh" - a cultural form rich in meaning in the spiritual life of Vietnamese people.
One of the most outstanding highlights in the “Dung Dinh” collection must certainly be the performance of Mister Vietnam 2024 Nguyen Manh Lan, which made the whole audience “restless”. Wearing a red and black ao dai, combining traditional patterns and modern details, Manh Lan's reenactment of Mother Goddess worship culture created a colorful and profound experience, bringing the audience into a mysterious cultural flow.
In the role of Vedette of the “Dung Dinh” collection, Miss Bui Quynh Hoa brought a satisfying and profound performance. With graceful steps and sharp demeanor, the beauty queen transformed into each layer of rare Obi brocade, expressing the cultural fusion between Japan and Vietnam through each step.
Closing a colorful performance, Cao Minh Tien’s “Dung Dinh” collection touched the depths of the audience by not only introducing impressive designs but also skillfully creating a “cultural stage”. The delicate coordination between elements such as costumes, accessories and performance brought a complete experience, surpassing the purely aesthetic aspect and elevating fashion to a true art form.
Through the designs meticulously expressed in every stitch, the endless applause of the audience in the auditorium also implicitly proved the attraction that designer Cao Minh Tien brought in the collection "Dung Dinh".
