There are currently 240 higher education institutions nationwide, including more than 60 private universities. This year, private universities mainly use two admission methods: academic transcripts and high school graduation exam scores. Some universities also consider results from aptitude tests or English proficiency requirements.
The training programs at private schools in Ho Chi Minh City are flexible, with many majors lasting only 3-3.5 years. While even autonomous public universities charge tuition fees of 30-60 million VND per year or more, the tuition fees for some majors at private schools are not significantly different.
In addition, many universities such as Hong Bang International University, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, and HUTECH have scholarship policies for new students, ranging from 25% to 100% of tuition fees per semester.
