In the last days of May, the atmosphere of exam preparation at high schools in Phu Tho province enters its peak phase. This is the time when tens of thousands of 12th-grade students accelerate their efforts to consolidate their knowledge, hone their test-taking skills, and stabilize their mindset before the 2026 High School Graduation Exam.
Take proactive steps to ensure a safe exam.
To prepare for the exam, Phu Tho province established a Provincial Exam Steering Committee consisting of 121 members; specific tasks were assigned to each department, sector, and locality. Immediately after its establishment, the Steering Committee held a meeting to agree on the operational plan and assign tasks to relevant units.
In the communes and wards where examination centers are located, coordination efforts are being implemented synchronously. Local authorities are proactively developing plans to ensure security and order, manage traffic flow, prepare electricity, water, medical services, and prevent natural disasters and fires. The mobilization of many sectors shows that the examination is not only the responsibility of the Education sector but also a shared responsibility of the entire political system.
During the inspection of preparations at the facilities, Mr. Nguyen Khac Hieu - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Tho province, Head of the Steering Committee for the 2026-2027 Grade 10 Entrance Examination and the 2026 High School Graduation Examination - highly appreciated the proactive spirit of schools and localities in preparing facilities, human resources, and plans to ensure the safety of the examination.

The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Tho province requested that examination centers continue to carefully review each step; strengthen coordination between the education sector, police, health sector, and local authorities; and proactively develop plans to respond to unusual situations due to weather, natural disasters, or unforeseen incidents.
At this point, preparations at the examination sites are basically complete. At Da Bac High School, the 2026 high school graduation exam site has 316 registered candidates. The school has arranged 14 official examination rooms, 2 waiting rooms, and 1 reserve room; the area for storing exam papers and answer sheets is equipped with 24/7 surveillance cameras. The school has also prepared backup generators, a medical room, signage systems, and other safety measures for the exam.
Alongside infrastructure improvements, the Phu Tho Department of Education and Training is focusing on perfecting professional aspects. Guidance documents on exam registration, graduation recognition, and university/college admissions have been fully issued; exam registration has been implemented rigorously at 168 registration units. These units have completed the review of applications and verified candidate information in accordance with regulations.
Notably, the Phu Tho Department of Education and Training organized two quality assessment tests for 12th-grade students, following the exact procedures of the high school graduation exam in all stages, from printing and copying exam papers to invigilation and marking. Organizing these assessments not only helps students familiarize themselves with exam pressure but also provides an opportunity for administrators and teachers to practice handling situations and minimize errors during the official exam.
Supporting students in overcoming the challenges of the entrance exam.
Along with the preparations by the Education sector, high schools in the province are accelerating the review process for 12th-grade students. Notably, many schools have adjusted their review methods to focus on developing competencies, differentiating between student abilities, and increasing the application of information technology to improve learning effectiveness.

At Thanh Son High School, the school is implementing many comprehensive solutions to improve the quality of exam preparation for 12th-grade students. In the 2025-2026 school year, the school has 1,422 students, of which 441 12th-grade students will participate in the 2026 High School Graduation Examination.
The school is innovating its review methods to develop students' competencies; gradually reducing one-way knowledge transmission; and increasing group discussions, problem-solving, and thematic practice. Teachers focus on guiding students in self-study methods, problem-solving skills, time management, and handling application-based questions.
Mr. Bui Vinh Tuy, Principal of Thanh Son High School, said that in addition to innovating review methods, the school also participates in quality assessment surveys organized by the Phu Tho Department of Education and Training; and cooperates with other high schools in the cluster to organize serious mock exams that closely resemble the sample questions. Through these surveys and mock exams, the school accurately assesses students' abilities to promptly adjust review plans and support students who are weak in knowledge.
Besides focusing on reviewing knowledge, schools also prioritize providing psychological support for graduating students. As the exam day approaches, the pressure on students increases. Therefore, family support becomes crucial in helping students maintain their mental state, stay healthy, and gain confidence before the exam.
Ms. Cao Thi Thuy (from Ban Nguyen commune), a parent whose child is in 12th grade at Long Chau Sa High School (Lam Thao commune), said that her family always tries to create a comfortable atmosphere for her child; paying attention to their daily routine, diet, and encouraging them to focus on studying. What parents want most is not only good exam results but also for their children to remain calm and confident when entering the examination room.

Along with reviewing knowledge, the organization of the exam continues to be tightened. All officials and teachers participating in the exam are fully briefed on the regulations and procedures for invigilation; updated on new aspects of the exam, especially skills in identifying and preventing cheating using high-tech devices.
The provincial police have developed plans to protect the areas where exam papers are printed and copied, the transportation of exam papers and answer sheets, the grading areas, and the examination sites; proactively preventing cheating and the dissemination of false information on social media. The health sector is also preparing personnel, medicines, and equipment to provide healthcare, prevent and control diseases, and handle any situations that may arise during the examination period.
With early preparation from all levels and sectors, along with the efforts of schools, teachers, parents, and students, Phu Tho is aiming for a safe, serious, and compliant examination. Proactive revision, psychological support, and preparation of organizational conditions will be crucial tools for students in Phu Tho to confidently enter the 2026 High School Graduation Examination.
2026 marks the first year Phu Tho province will organize the high school graduation exam on a large scale after the merger. The entire province has 48,185 registered candidates, including 37,769 12th-grade high school students, 8,094 continuing education students, and 2,322 independent candidates.
The province has arranged 110 examination centers in 84 communes and wards with approximately 1,962 examination rooms; more than 7,100 officials, teachers, staff, and functional forces are participating in the examination supervision work, along with more than 1,100 reserve personnel.
