On the morning of May 18th, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School (District 3) held a ceremony to commemorate the 133rd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2023) and to honor exemplary individuals who have studied and followed Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style.
As part of the ceremony, the school's leadership and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training also inaugurated the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space at the school.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Chuong, Principal of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School, cut the ribbon to inaugurate the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Chuong, Principal of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School, said that the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space is located in the Party branch room, the library, and is also posted online. After more than 5 months of implementation, the space not only recreates the life, career, thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh through visual images and content, but also displays many products and documents about him. This is also a project to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the founding of the Gia Long-Minh Khai High School.
According to Ms. Chuong, one hallmark of the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space is the participation of students. Specifically, the school has created opportunities for students to think creatively and showcase their talents to contribute impressive products such as websites, infographics, magazines, models of the Nha Rong Wharf historical site and President Ho Chi Minh's stilt house at the Presidential Palace. "In the future, I hope the students will continue to research and regularly supplement materials so that the space becomes increasingly rich and diverse," Ms. Chuong said.
The Ho Chi Minh cultural space at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School features numerous infographics created by students and teachers.
After the inauguration, the principal said that the cultural room would be open regularly for teachers and students to visit, read books, and organize group activities, thematic sessions, and extracurricular activities to learn about President Ho Chi Minh's revolutionary life. "Meanwhile, the library will be the venue for lessons related to President Ho Chi Minh in the curriculum," Ms. Chuong added.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, affirmed that the implementation and construction of the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space in schools does not focus on physical factors such as the size of the room or the number of books. Most importantly, according to Mr. Hieu, is how teachers and students implement the learning of President Ho Chi Minh's example.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, said that the emphasis should not be on physical elements when building the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space.
During the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu also presented certificates of commendation to exemplary collectives and individuals who have studied and followed the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh.
Therefore, regarding the initiative to facilitate students' participation in building the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space, Mr. Hieu highly appreciated and "warmly commended the creative spirit of the teachers and students." "I believe that the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School and other schools will be interconnected, thereby creating a city of learning and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh," Mr. Hieu said.
Leverage technology
In collaboration with students to create the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space, Mr. Nguyen Van Ba, Youth Assistant at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School, said that the content and materials will be compiled by the responsible staff and teachers. Then, students will be responsible for "processing" and illustrating them into eye-catching products in various forms. "This both hones information technology skills and 'upgrades' students' comprehensive thinking, increasing their understanding of President Ho Chi Minh," Mr. Ba observed.

The model of Nha Rong Wharf, created by a group of students, is currently on display in the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space.
Among the students participating in the project was Truong Ngo Gia Bao, from class 10A6 of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School. As a member of the school's Youth Union Executive Committee, Bao said he was inspired by stories of digital transformation and wanted to "digitize" the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space so that more students could access and learn about the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh in a new and vivid way.
To realize his idea, Bao said he had to teach himself different programming languages such as JavaScript, HTML, CCS, etc., as well as find more related knowledge to learn how to program and publish websites, add content, and insert effects. "This process gave me the opportunity to practice my skills, as well as help me consolidate my historical knowledge, and inspire me to understand more deeply and clearly about Uncle Ho," the student confided.
Gia Bảo developed a website to "digitize" the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space, creating opportunities for many other students to access materials about President Ho.
Like a miniature museum
After visiting the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space, Le Hoang Quoc Khang, a student in class 11A13 at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School, assessed the exhibition as resembling a miniature museum with "very cozy" sound and lighting. "Here, I can access the most valuable and accurate documents about Uncle Ho instead of having to 'overwhelm' searching for information online. The space also displays many everyday stories of Uncle Ho, helping me understand more about his simple virtues," the student confided.
Khang also affirmed that studying in these spaces would be much more engaging for him than sitting in a classroom, not only because of the abundant resources but also because of the atmosphere that feels like "reliving the glorious times" and the opportunity to proactively explore the materials he is interested in. The male student likened this learning method to experiencing real-world knowledge in biology or chemistry labs.
