According to reports, tourist attractions such as Thanh Ha pottery village, Tra Que vegetable village, and Hoi An ancient town receive thousands of visitors every day.
Notably, these attractions have been equipped with entrance tickets incorporating QR codes in English and Vietnamese by the Hoi An City Center for Culture, Sports and Tourism, to serve tourists efficiently and conveniently.

The ticket also includes a map showing tourist attractions, handicraft production facilities, and gift redemption points. Tourists can simply scan the QR code on the ticket with their smartphone to learn about the origin and history of the destination, instead of reading the information printed on a traditional paper ticket as before.

In addition, tourists can purchase tickets with cash at the ticket counter or pay online through payment gateways such as VNPAY -QR, e-wallets, PayPal, etc. For tourists or companies requiring an invoice after payment, the ticket also includes a link or code for access.

While leading a group of students on a tour of Thanh Ha pottery village, Nguyen Duy Hung, a tour guide from Da Nang city, said that before visiting the pottery village, more than 350 students in the group had their tickets purchased online by a travel company.
“My students and I had a wonderful time visiting the tourist attractions in Hoi An. There was a free electric shuttle service, reasonable ticket prices, and, even better, we received souvenirs to take home,” Mr. Hung shared.

Robert Hugo (a French national) who visited Thanh Ha pottery village said: “With this ticket, I can find information about pottery workshops and free gift redemption points by scanning the QR code with my personal phone. I really like this type of entrance ticket because it is very useful and saves me a lot of time when visiting this place.”

According to ticket vendors at Thanh Ha pottery village, approximately 1200-1500 Vietnamese and international tourists visit the village daily, with the busiest days being Saturdays and Sundays.
Each ticket to visit and watch artisans at Thanh Ha pottery village demonstrate pottery making costs 35,000 VND per person. For children under 16 years old, one ticket is free for two children.
"Tourists using tickets with QR codes makes the work of selling and checking tickets easier and more professional for me and the staff at the ticket counter. For example, when a tour group comes to visit, we only need to check one ticket to know the number of other members in the group," this staff member explained.

Mr. Nguyen Phuong Dong, Deputy Director of the Hoi An City Center for Culture, Sports, Information and Communication, said that the new digitalized entrance tickets were implemented by the center from April 1, 2024, and are being piloted at tourist attractions such as Thanh Ha pottery village and Tra Que vegetable village.
“Since introducing QR code-based entrance tickets, many positive effects have been created. Visitors can update destination information or make payments via phone, receive full invoices and receipts, and ticket sales and control are more rigorous, efficient, and time-saving,” Mr. Dong said.
