This is an activity on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day; to promote the homeland's sea and islands, to arouse patriotism, national pride, and sense of responsibility of the people for protecting sovereignty , territorial integrity, and sea and islands, and to provide children living in the sea and islands with a meaningful, safe, and useful playground.
Attending the program were delegates representing the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Children's Rights; Department of Mothers and Children - Ministry of Health; Committee for Population, Family and Children ( Ministry of National Defense ), along with leaders of the district Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, forces on duty on Bach Long Vi island and more than 60 children living on Bach Long Vi island.
The delegation of the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Children's Rights presented many gifts to children on Bach Long Vi Island.
The program awarded 110 scholarships and gifts to children of officers, soldiers and fishermen working and living on the island. Each scholarship is worth 2 million VND and gifts worth 1.5 million VND including: candy, milk, toys, medicine, books. At the same time, the delegation also donated funds to the " Helping children go to school " fund including air conditioners, televisions, water heaters, alkaline ionized water filters, children's toys... and other necessities for Bach Long Vi Kindergarten and Primary School.
The total value of money and gifts from the program "Lighting up dreams - Accompanying children in Bach Long Vi" is 652,000,000 VND.
On this occasion, the delegation held an incense offering ceremony to commemorate the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland on Bach Long Vi island.
