With the aim of protecting the environment through recycling old books and newspapers to create decorative products for use in learning and life, on September 26th, in Ha Long City, the Quang Ninh Provincial Library organized a Creative Competition with Old Books and Newspapers.

At the competition, more than 300 contestants, all elementary and middle school students from schools across the province, directly created models and products from old books and newspapers, and briefly presented their ideas. Six contestants with the most creative works were selected for the next round to further explain the meaning of their products. The organizing committee awarded one first prize, two second prizes, three third prizes, and 94 consolation prizes to the outstanding contestants.

Each product at the competition showcased the passion and dedication of the students and spread the message of "protecting the environment, recycling resources, and preserving a green planet," thereby encouraging everyone to use resources economically and efficiently, and moving towards a sustainable lifestyle.

The competition created an environment for interaction and learning among students; it facilitated the reuse of books, contributing to the development of cultural values, promoting reading habits, and fostering a love of books. Through this, it raised awareness among the political system and all segments of the population about the role and importance of books and newspapers in social life.

Over the past period, Quang Ninh Provincial Library has organized many activities with rich, diverse, and attractive content and forms; especially focusing on developing a reading culture for young readers, contributing to the education and shaping of their character and spiritual lives.
