On the afternoon of February 28th, the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee, in coordination with the Department of Information and Communications of Binh Thuan province, organized the regular monthly press briefing for February.
At the conference, Colonel Huynh Ngoc Liem, Deputy Director of the Binh Thuan Provincial Police, stated that from December 15, 2023 to the present, the provincial police force has concentrated its resources and implemented comprehensive professional measures to investigate and clarify 113 cases of social order crimes.

In particular, the police clarified 18 very serious crimes, arrested 271 individuals involved in gambling and 178 individuals involved in drug-related offenses, and handled 134 individuals violating economic and smuggling regulations, and 86 individuals violating environmental regulations. From December 15, 2023 to the present, police units and localities have arrested and processed 81 cases involving 98 individuals, seizing nearly 1.3 tons of various types of firecrackers.
Regarding traffic safety and order, Colonel Huynh Ngoc Liem stated that to date, there have been over 30 cases of officials, civil servants, police officers, and military personnel violating alcohol limits. In all these cases, the Binh Thuan Provincial Police sent notifications to their workplaces, including those of retired officers, to their residences and Party memberships for self-criticism. The results of these self-criticism reports were sent back to the Binh Thuan Provincial Police for updating and reporting to the Ministry of Public Security .
"The direction and handling of drunk driving violations in Binh Thuan are very strict. The implementation is in accordance with regulations and is thorough. As a result, this has created a very positive change in awareness and public opinion. Recently, the number of violations by officials and civil servants has decreased sharply, with no cases detected," said Colonel Huynh Ngoc Liem.
From January 11th to February 26th, the Binh Thuan traffic police force conducted 1,961 patrol shifts, mobilizing 10,855 officers, issuing 10,019 violation reports, imposing fines totaling over 26 billion VND, revoking 1,853 driver's licenses, and temporarily seizing 3,589 vehicles of various types.
