Over half a century of companionship with the Party Committee and the people.

BDK - Ba Tri is a land rich in revolutionary traditions and patriotism. Information and propaganda activities were established here early on, playing a sharp role as a weapon in the resistance war and the building of the homeland. Throughout various historical periods up to the present day, the district's broadcasting sector has continuously grown stronger, always serving as a bridge between the Party, the government, and the people.

Leaders of the District Party Committee and former leaders of the District Radio Station, along with reporters and journalists from Ba Tri, posed for a commemorative photo at the reunion.

From the loudspeaker announcements of the resistance war to the present day.

Right from the resistance war against the US, in 1968, the predecessor of the Ba Tri District Radio Station was established, under the name of the Volunteer Propaganda Team. The team consisted of only three members, but was fully equipped with technical means such as amplifiers, loudspeakers, microphones, batteries, and even self-defense weapons. The mission of the Volunteer Propaganda Team was to call on soldiers to return to the revolution. At the same time, they organized propaganda at revolutionary ceremonies and meetings in the locality. At that time, this was an extremely effective form of oral journalism, making a significant contribution to mobilizing the masses and protecting the revolutionary government.

After the complete liberation of South Vietnam in 1975, the Volunteer Propaganda Team officially changed its name to the Radio Broadcasting Team, headquartered in Zone II, Ba Tri town. During this period, the team continued its propaganda activities with a staff of only three people. This was the stage where the radio station gradually consolidated its organization, adapted to the demands of propaganda in peacetime, and served the cause of government reconstruction and stabilizing the lives of the people after the war.

By 1978, My Nhon Commune Radio Station was established, with a scale and operational facilities almost equivalent to a district-level station; marking a step in expanding the grassroots broadcasting system throughout the area.

In 1979, the station was officially named Ba Tri District Radio Station, with Comrade Nguyen Quang Tri - District Party Committee member and Head of the District Party Committee's Propaganda Department - concurrently serving as the station's director. Comrade Tran Minh Hoang was appointed deputy director, and the staff was increased to six people. From then on, the system of commune and town radio stations began to form and develop widely.

By 1996, in line with the trend of integration, the station began collaborating with Ben Tre Radio and Television Station to produce news, articles, and television reports. This was an important step that helped expand its reach, improve the quality of its content, and contribute to bringing the image of Ba Tri closer to friends inside and outside the province.

In particular, in 2004, with investment from the central government, Ba Tri District Radio Station officially began broadcasting on FM frequency, meeting the news listening needs of the local people. In 2019, in line with the trend of streamlining the organization, the Radio Station was merged into the Culture and Sports Center, becoming the Radio Broadcasting Unit under the Culture, Sports and Broadcasting Center of Ba Tri District.

By February 2025, in the context of digital transformation, the Broadcasting Team advised and received permission from the District Party Committee and the District People's Committee to cease FM broadcasting and switch to digital broadcasting via the Internet. Simultaneously, they implemented a modern relay broadcasting model for communes and towns. This is a breakthrough, demonstrating the strong adaptability and progress of the broadcasting sector in the new era.

Honest bridge

Recalling the 100th anniversary of the Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025) and over 50 years of the district's radio broadcasting sector at a recent press meeting organized by the Ba Tri District Party Committee, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ba Tri District Party Committee and Chairman of the District People's Council, Bui Thanh Duong, assessed: "From the early days of the arduous resistance war, under extremely difficult conditions, to the period of national renewal and the current digital transformation, generations of journalists and broadcasters in Ba Tri have continuously strived to overcome difficulties, stayed close to the grassroots, accompanied the development of the homeland, and served as a truthful and vibrant bridge between the Party, the government, and the people."

In carrying out the socio -economic development tasks of the district, the press has played a crucial and indispensable role. Provincial press agencies and the district's information system have worked alongside the Party Committee, government, and people of the district in disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and regulations, vividly reflecting socio-economic life, highlighting good deeds and exemplary individuals, and identifying shortcomings in practice for timely correction and improvement. Through journalistic works, images of the land and people of Ba Tri have been widely disseminated, contributing to enhancing its reputation, attracting investment, promoting tourism, and comprehensive development in many fields.

Deputy Secretary of the Ba Tri District Party Committee, Bui Thanh Duong, affirmed: The District Party Committee and government always consider close coordination with the press as a crucial factor contributing to the overall success of local development. We hope to continue receiving the attention, support, and cooperation of press agencies and journalists in discovering and introducing good models and innovative approaches, truthfully reflecting the legitimate aspirations and suggestions of the people. At the same time, we aim to encourage innovation and creativity throughout society.

Entering a new phase of development, especially in the context of implementing the policy of streamlining the administrative apparatus, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ba Tri District Party Committee, Bui Thanh Duong, hopes that the team of journalists and propagandists in the district will continue to uphold their glorious traditions. They should constantly innovate their thinking, improve their professional skills, apply modern communication technologies, maintain professional ethics and political integrity to effectively fulfill the noble mission entrusted to them by the Party and the people.

"After the merger, agencies, units, and localities should continue to cooperate and create even more favorable conditions for journalists and broadcasters to excellently fulfill their duties, contributing to building a healthy, transparent, humane information environment and for the sustainable development of the locality," noted Bui Thanh Duong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ba Tri District Party Committee.

“The more than 50-year journey of establishment and development of the district's broadcasting industry is a journey full of hardship, intelligence, courage, and silent sacrifices of countless generations of journalists and broadcasters. It is they, with their loyalty to the Party and dedication to the people, who have contributed to bringing the voice of the Party and the government to the people.”
