Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea said the force had carried out a coordinated military operation, using a supersonic ballistic missile and four drones to attack strategic targets in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv, Xinhua news agency reported.
Mr. Sarea also warned that attacks against Israel will continue until the conflict in the Gaza Strip ends.
The Times of Israel reported that the country's military confirmed that its air defense system successfully intercepted a missile launched from Yemen and that the attack caused disruption to air traffic at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv during the day.
Sirens were sounded in several communities in the West Bank, the Jordan Valley, the Afula area and near Beit Shean due to concerns about falling shrapnel. No sirens were sounded in Tel Aviv.
