Speaking to Tri Thuc - Znews , Ms. Tran Thi Hoai Tram, Director of the Hue City Department of Tourism , said that on April 30, the locality welcomed more than 27,000 visitors, including 3,454 international tourists and 23,894 domestic tourists. The Hue Imperial Citadel alone attracted nearly 12,000 visitors.

Tourism revenue reached 3.7 billion VND , the highest ever recorded in a single day . Of this amount, more than 1,000 entrance tickets were booked online by tourists.

In the first four months of the year, Hue welcomed approximately 1.2 million visitors, including 651,333 international tourists and 554,105 domestic tourists; total revenue is estimated at nearly 178,000 billion VND .

According to a representative from the Department of Tourism, Hue tourism "struck it rich" during the holiday season thanks to this year's favorable holiday schedule, with the two holidays separated by only two working days, allowing tourists to combine them into longer trips.

"Promotional activities, trending experiential products, and the increase in the number of independent travelers are also contributing to boosting demand," Ms. Tram said.

Prior to the holiday, the Department of Tourism implemented measures to ensure accommodation supply, prevent overcrowding, and avoid price increases. Accommodation facilities were assessed for capacity; businesses were required to prepare personnel, facilities, and comply with regulations on fire safety, food hygiene, and security.

Over the five-day holiday, occupancy is estimated at around 83%. The peak days of April 30th and May 1st are expected to reach 97%, with 3-5 star hotels almost fully booked (around 99%). Overall, supply meets demand.

Local authorities are implementing measures to improve the tourism environment, focusing on addressing issues such as touting, harassment, street vending, and unauthorized parking in high-traffic areas like the city center, historical sites, and pedestrian streets. Local governments are required to strengthen management and promote environmental hygiene and urban order.

The tourism sector is coordinating with authorities to ensure security during the peak season. From April 16th to April 28th, inspection teams worked in 12 key communes and wards, requesting enhanced safety measures for tourists and establishing channels for receiving feedback.

The Department of Tourism forecasts that the total number of tourists visiting Hue during the April 30th holiday will reach approximately 610,000, an increase of 73.7% compared to the same period last year. Of these, international tourists are estimated at 164,000, an increase of 129% compared to the same period last year. Tourism revenue is estimated at 1,350 billion VND .

During this period, Hue organizes many activities, most notably the "Magical Imperial Palace" program at the Imperial Citadel, recreating the royal court atmosphere at night with the changing of the guard ceremony, court rituals, and a light show.

In addition, royal cuisine programs, bonsai and orchid exhibitions, the "Thuan An Beach Calling 2026" event, tea culture exhibitions, the Dien Hue Nam festival, and the rural market in Phuoc Tich ancient village all contribute to attracting tourists to Hue during this period.
