Mobilizing the people's strength to care for the people.

Upon receiving information from local authorities about the dilapidated condition of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thieu's house (Tay ethnic minority, Hamlet 7, Dak Lua Commune) and her inability to rebuild it, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai Province provided the family with 80 million VND from the Provincial Fund for the Poor. Following this, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dak Lua Commune appealed to relatives and neighbors to help Ms. Thieu with additional money and labor. Thanks to this support, Ms. Thieu's house, once completed, is valued at 150 million VND.

This is just one of the families that have received help from the community through the connections and distribution efforts of the Vietnam Fatherland Front committees at all levels in recent times. This activity of the Front is linked to the motto "Using the people's strength to care for the people."

A place where people place their trust.

One of the six tasks of the Fatherland Front is to mobilize all strata of the people to compete, innovate, and effectively implement major campaigns and the Patriotic Emulation Movement. In carrying out this task, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province closely follows the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress and the Action Program of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. At the same time, depending on the needs of the people, the Fatherland Front and its member organizations at the same level carry out appropriate activities. Furthermore, the Fatherland Front at all levels ensures that mobilized resources reach the right people in need, maintains transparency in revenue and expenditure, and becomes a trusted resource that the people choose to entrust with their resources to carry out social welfare work.

According to Do Thanh Cong, Deputy Chief of the Office of Dong Nai Power Company Limited: 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Southern Power Corporation and its affiliated units. However, the company will not organize any commemorative activities but will use the funds for social welfare work. Through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province, the company has supported eight families in Dak Lua commune in building houses with a sponsorship of 60 million VND per house. On the day of handover, the company, along with representatives from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and the commune, organized a delegation to visit the homes, share in the joy, and present additional gifts to encourage each family.

Along with collectives, many individuals have used the Fatherland Front to help those in need. Mr. Le Duong Bao Lam (Long Thanh commune) shared: “My friends and I wanted to find a reliable place to help our fellow citizens in need. Therefore, we decided to donate 200 million VND to the Provincial Fund for the Poor, managed by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province.”

Specifically, in response to the call to support people in the northern provinces affected by Typhoon No. 3 in 2024, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province mobilized people to contribute 161.6 billion VND. Along with 160 tons of goods donated by the people through the Provincial Red Cross Society… This money and goods were promptly transferred by Dong Nai to support the affected localities.

As a result, during the 2024-2025 period, the total amount of donations collected by the Fatherland Front in the province for social welfare work reached over 1.3 trillion VND.

Building compassion and trust within the community.

Currently, communes and wards in the province are organizing the first Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at the commune level, for the term 2025-2030. At the same time, more than 1,700 Fatherland Front working committees at the hamlet, neighborhood, and village levels have recently completed their Fatherland Front work conferences. A common point is that the Fatherland Front at all levels is focusing on making the mobilization of all strata of the people to compete, innovate, and effectively implement major campaigns and the Patriotic Emulation Movement a central task in the new term.

Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long Binh Ward, Nguyen Minh Hieu, said: "The locality still has many disadvantaged people who need assistance. Therefore, in the new term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward will coordinate with member organizations; people of all religions and ethnic groups will work alongside the Party Committee and the government to carry out social welfare activities with the goal of ensuring that no poor person or family in difficult circumstances lacks attention and support from the State and the community."

According to Pham Tuan Hai, Head of the Fatherland Front Committee of Cay Diep hamlet, Dong Tam commune, the hamlet's Fatherland Front Committee will continue to play a bridging role in mobilizing and coordinating social resources, creating mechanisms for the well-off to help the disadvantaged; and for those with knowledge and experience to share with the community…

At the same time, during the implementation of social welfare programs, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels and its member organizations always encourage sponsors to participate and witness the activities being organized.

According to Tran Thuy Tien, Vice President of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations, the Union has established partnerships with more than 60 foreign non- governmental organizations (NGOs). During the implementation of social welfare projects funded by these NGOs, the Union invites its partners to participate. This allows donors to directly monitor the use of the resources they contribute.

According to Nguyen Tan Phu, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province: The Fatherland Front, from the provincial to the grassroots level, along with its member organizations, consistently uses all received resources to care for those in need, ensuring that the funding reaches the intended beneficiaries.

In addition, all information regarding the receipt and use of contributions continues to be posted on the website of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations from the provincial to the grassroots level; in coordination with Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio and Television, it is published and broadcast on various platforms so that people can directly exercise their right to supervise. This demonstrates transparency in the implementation of social welfare work using mobilized resources.
