By the end of 2024, the average GRDP per capita of Hai Lang district reached 74.5 million VND/person/year. The poverty rate was only 3.19%, and the economic growth rate reached 12.3%. At the same time, Hai Lang also met the criteria of the national set of criteria for New Rural Area districts.

In Decision No. 542/QD-TTg, the Deputy Prime Minister assigned the People's Committee of Quang Tri province the responsibility to announce and reward according to regulations; and directed the People's Committee of Hai Lang district to continue maintaining and improving the quality of the criteria, focusing on economic and environmental criteria to ensure sustainability in building new rural areas.
