Making their first appearance at the World Cup, the Vietnamese women's national team immediately faced their toughest challenge. Coach Mai Duc Chung's team was drawn into the same group as the defending champions (USA), the defending runners-up (Netherlands), and the strongest team among the eight newcomers to the tournament (Portugal).
Huynh Nhu and her teammates didn't score any goals, let alone earn their first points. Nevertheless, this was a memorable journey, marking a historic milestone for the Vietnamese women's national team. The players can be proud and honored for fighting their hardest to leave their mark on the world football map.
