This would mean the standard iPhone 16 would also have an Action button, just like the iPhone 16 Pro. This rumor seems plausible given Apple's tendency to streamline features on its devices.

The iPhone 16 Pro will have a Capture button.

The Action button can be used as a shutter button for the iPhone 15 Pro Max camera, but it's not exactly the same as a physical camera shutter button.

The shutter button on a professional camera allows for a light press to focus and more force to take the picture. This is not possible with an Action button.

Information about the Capture button leaked in September 2023 and has continuously resurfaced, with many sources claiming that the Capture button will appear on the new iPhone. Unlike the Action button, the Capture button will function more like a shutter button on a professional camera.

The Capture button will give users the ability to physically control the camera on their iPhone, just like a digital camera, making it much easier to start taking pictures.

Leaked information even suggests that the Capture button will be highly pressure-sensitive. This aligns with the half-press function found on professional cameras. Additionally, users can adjust the zoom level by touching the Capture button due to its high touch sensitivity.

The iPhone 16 may use capacitive buttons.

According to Economic Daily , Apple has placed a large order for capacitive buttons from supplier Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE) to replace all physical buttons on the iPhone 16.

The use of capacitive technology will provide a new experience and can add more functionality to buttons.

Capacitive buttons use haptic feedback vibrations to let the user know their action has been performed, unlike mechanical buttons. The advantage of solid-state capacitive buttons is their greater durability because they do not wear down with repeated use like mechanical buttons.

Back in September 2023, leaked information suggested that the Capture and Action buttons on the iPhone 16 Pro would be capacitive. However, that report confirmed that the volume buttons would remain mechanical, not capacitive.

The iPhone 16 series is expected to be released this September. Notably, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature significant camera upgrades, support for Wi-Fi 7 and 5G Advance, and a graphene-based cooling system. The iPhone 16 series may also support AI generative technology, allowing users to interact with chatbots or create images using text directly on their phones.
