New information revealed about foldable iPhone.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - According to plan, Apple will introduce a foldable iPhone in September 2026.

In a recent social media post, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that Apple's first foldable iPhone will integrate the Touch ID fingerprint sensor into the power button on the side, instead of using an in-display fingerprint sensor.

"Currently, many rumors suggest that the foldable iPhone will use an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the screen. However, that is unlikely to happen. Luxshare is expected to supply the Touch ID module in the power button for the foldable iPhone," Kuo shared.

According to DigiTimes , the development of the foldable iPhone (iPhone Fold) has reached the first prototype stage (Prototype 1). This is the initial stage where the company creates a fully functional device.

If everything goes according to schedule, Apple could complete prototype testing by the end of 2025. After that, the product will move on to the Engineering Verification Test (EVT) phase.

According to 9to5mac , this stage is still very early. After testing the first prototype, Apple will create two more prototypes before moving on to the EVT stage. This is to determine the final design that can be put into production.

Each prototyping phase lasts approximately two months. During this time, Apple's supply chain partners conduct testing before handing over assembly to companies like Foxconn and Pegatron. These partners then verify the production capacity and assembly efficiency of the product.

According to Bloomberg , the foldable iPhone will be equipped with a total of four cameras. One camera will be on the inner screen, one on the outer screen, and two main cameras will be on the back.

Previously, Digital Chat Station revealed that the foldable iPhone would be equipped with a dual 48MP camera system. Experts believe the second lens is likely an ultra-wide-angle lens, rather than a telephoto lens, due to space limitations inside the foldable device.

According to a report from market research firm TrendForce , the foldable iPhone will feature a 7.8-inch internal display and a 5.5-inch external display.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says the crease on the device's screen will almost disappear. Apple is reportedly using a special metal frame that helps distribute the pressure when the screen bends, thereby minimizing the impact that causes the crease.
