According to European sources, AS Roma and Man Utd have agreed a loan deal with a buyout clause worth around £20 million (€25 million). This is seen as an opportunity for Sancho to renew his career after a period of falling out of favor under coaches Ten Hag and Ruben Amorim. However, the 25-year-old star has decided not to move to Serie A.

Not only did Sancho reject AS Roma, he also rejected the possibility of going to Türkiye to play for Besiktas. This made it difficult for Man Utd to find a way out for the player who had high expectations when joining from Dortmund for nearly 73 million pounds in 2021.
The biggest obstacle is Sancho's high salary. This player still has 1 year left on his contract with Man Utd and is receiving a sky-high salary of up to 250,000 pounds per week. This is a salary that is out of the reach of AS Roma. However, Sancho does not want to take a big pay cut to leave at all costs.
The English player himself seems to be in no hurry, but is waiting for a destination that truly suits his personal ambitions.

Previously, AS Roma head coach Gian Piero Gasperini had spoken directly to Sancho, affirming that the Serie A environment could help him return to his peak. Sporting director Frederic Massara also negotiated detailed terms related to salary and commission fees with Sancho's agent. However, these efforts ultimately could not change the decision of the player born in 2000.
With the transfer window about to close, Man Utd are facing the risk of having to continue to "hold the debt" of Sancho on the bench, both wasting the salary fund and not bringing professional value. Meanwhile, the player himself is still steadfastly waiting for another more worthy opportunity.
