Julian Alvarez did not play in the 2022/23 Champions League final, however he was still one of the key players in Manchester City's winning journey.

Alvarez has played 10 matches, scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists in European competitions this season. The title won on the morning of June 11th also helped Alvarez set a number of records.

Julian Alvarez became the first player to win the World Cup and the treble in a single season. Furthermore, Alvarez is also the 10th player and the youngest in history to win both the World Cup and the Champions League in the same season.

Julian Alvarez won the Champions League with Man City.

This is Alvarez's first season at Man City. The 2000-born star moved to the Etihad Stadium from River Plate for £14 million. He plays a supporting role to Haaland. However, Alvarez has still made 49 appearances, starting 23 times and scoring 17 goals. He ranks second on Man City's scoring list, behind Haaland with 52 goals.

Man City rewarded Julian Alvarez's form with a new five-year contract and a salary of £100,000 a week.
