Attending the opening ceremony of the exhibition were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Ayun H'Bút; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich; journalist Huynh Kien - Editor-in-Chief of Gia Lai Newspaper, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association, along with representatives of leaders from various departments and agencies and a large number of journalists in the area.

Over 30 sets of images displayed at the Provincial Museum recreated the history of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism over the past 100 years and the formation and development of journalism in Gia Lai, beginning with the Thanh Nien newspaper founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc in 1925. From there, revolutionary journalism experienced strong development closely linked to the two wars of resistance against colonialism and imperialism, making important contributions to the cause of national liberation and later to the reconstruction of the country. Throughout that century, Gia Lai's journalism shared the same spirit and solidarity, with its first newspaper named "Sang" (the predecessor of Gia Lai Newspaper).

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Tran Quoc Anh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association, remarked: After the reunification of the country, the press continued to accompany the Party Committee, government, and people of Gia Lai province in the reconstruction, innovation, and development process. From a land that suffered greatly from war, Gia Lai has risen strongly, becoming a center for the development of renewable energy and high-tech agriculture ... This achievement is due in no small part to the contributions of press agencies in reflecting, encouraging, guiding public opinion, and creating momentum for the province's development.
“For 78 years since the founding of the newspaper “Sang,” the revolutionary press of Gia Lai province has always accompanied the nation's struggles, playing an important role in the cause of building and defending the country. With continuous development in scale and position, the press agencies in the province have done a good job of disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations, contributing to the socio- economic development of the province,” journalist Tran Quoc Anh concluded.

At the exhibition, delegates toured and learned about the activities of the Provincial Journalists Association throughout different periods; professional activities, training courses, and journalism seminars… The exhibition also showed the recognition by provincial leaders throughout different periods of the role and contributions of local and central journalists based in the area through emulation and reward programs.
Visitors also had the opportunity to learn more about the history and development of Gia Lai Newspaper and the provincial Radio and Television Station before and after their merger in mid-May 2025. Along with that, beautiful images of reporters and journalists at work evoked many positive emotions about a unique profession, one that is often arduous, even dangerous, but makes a significant contribution to social development. The versatility of the journalistic workforce was further showcased through images of vibrant cultural, artistic, and sporting activities in the province and the region. Outstanding achievements, the digital transformation of journalism, and social welfare work were also key highlights of the exhibition.
While admiring the meticulously arranged and displayed images, Ms. Huynh Thi Trung (Group 5, Hoa Lu Ward, Pleiku City) commented: "The exhibition is well-organized, with many beautiful images showcasing the activities of the Provincial Journalists Association over the past few decades. Before, when my eyesight was better, I regularly read print newspapers; now I mainly watch television broadcasts from Gia Lai Newspaper and Vietnam Television. In my opinion, journalism plays a very significant role in social life, transmitting and updating information promptly from the grassroots to the people, from politics to economics, culture, and sports..." - Ms. Trung shared.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich stated: "This is a very meaningful activity to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day. The exhibition helps viewers gain a deeper understanding of the development process of Vietnamese journalism as well as the journalism of Gia Lai province. Especially, on this occasion, people get to learn about the first newspaper in Vietnam and the first newspaper in the province." According to the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, over the years, Gia Lai's journalism has always accompanied the province's development, always serving as a reliable communication channel, promptly reporting on all activities, from the province's leadership and direction to various aspects of life; creating social consensus and conveying timely information to the people.

A large number of viewers shared the same opinion: The valuable and useful documents at the exhibition helped journalists, as well as cadres, Party members, and the people of Gia Lai, to gain a deeper understanding and pride in the history, traditions, and achievements of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism, the revolutionary journalism of the province, and the great contributions of generations of journalist-soldiers. As the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association said: “This is an opportunity for us to become even more aware of our responsibility to uphold political integrity and professional ethics, constantly innovating and creating so that journalism continues to be a pioneering force in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.”
The exhibition runs until June 21st, aiming to encourage and motivate journalists to continue creating and contributing outstanding journalistic works about the land and people of Gia Lai, meeting the cultural and spiritual needs of the province's residents.
