After school, the green volunteer shirts quickly spread out across the yard, picking up each plastic bottle, collecting each broken chair. Their backs were soaked with sweat, their hands and feet were dirty, but their smiles never faded. Seeing the children diligently sorting and weighing each kilo of scrap metal and then saving each penny to put into the common fund, I felt so sorry for them! Those kilos of scrap metal, to others, might be trash, but to my students, it was hope. I hoped that this small amount of money would become a scholarship, so that my friends would not have to drop out of school, so that the path to learning would be less bumpy.
This photo collection is just ordinary moments of my school students. But there are valuable lessons about friendship, about sharing "the rich help the poor" that no book can teach.
The "Small Plan" model - collecting inorganic waste and recycling was deployed by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Long My High School, Hau Giang (old) at the beginning of the 2020 - 2021 school year and collected 213 kg of plastic (of which a large amount came from broken chairs - used for flag-raising activities - of students).

On the morning of December 6, 2020, the School Union contacted the owner of the scrap purchasing facility and proceeded to bring the small planned products to the recycling factory. The amount collected from this product delivery was 1,050,000 VND, all of which was donated to the scholarship fund to help disadvantaged students who overcome difficulties to study well at Long My High School.
At 2:00 p.m. on February 22, 2021, at Warehouse No. 18, Long My High School, the Youth Union's volunteer team conducted a small-scale product classification. The activity attracted more than 15 members to participate with very encouraging results - over 50 kg of plastic waste was classified and neatly stacked.

At 1:30 p.m. on May 7, 2021, at Warehouse No. 18, Long My High School, the Youth Union's volunteer team classified and brought small plan products to the recycling facility. The activity attracted 7 members to participate and raised more than 900,000 VND for the Small Plan scholarship fund.

On the morning of May 29, 2021, the School Youth Union awarded Small Plan - Friendship Rice Jar scholarships to 3 students in difficult circumstances to encourage them to overcome difficulties and study well.
