This is a vivid testament to the spirit of solidarity, mutual support, and helping those in need of the Vietnamese people. It has further motivated those in difficult circumstances and the vulnerable in society to rise above their circumstances.

Working together for humanitarian causes.

2026 marks the 6th year of implementing the Humanitarian Month, and for the same number of years, GSB Steel Structure Joint Stock Company (located in Tan Trieu ward) has partnered with the Provincial Red Cross Society (now the City Red Cross Society) in this activity.

Mr. Nguyen Tan Loc, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GSB Steel Structure Joint Stock Company, said: Besides production and business activities, the company always pays attention to and cooperates with the Red Cross Society of the city and localities in caring for and supporting people in difficult and vulnerable circumstances. Every year, the company participates in supporting people in provinces affected by storms and floods; and provides many gifts to local communities to care for the poor, people in difficult circumstances, and children during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year).

During this year's Humanitarian Month, GSB Steel Structure Joint Stock Company awarded 30 scholarships (worth 1 million VND each) to students from disadvantaged backgrounds, motivating them to excel in their studies and lives. "In the future, the company will strive to maintain 1-2 humanitarian and charitable activities each month, hoping to help more disadvantaged and vulnerable people in society, contributing to ensuring social welfare in the city," Mr. Loc said.

Besides GSB Steel Structure Joint Stock Company, during the 2026 Humanitarian Month, the City Red Cross Society also received support from several other businesses, such as: Taekwang Vina Steel Structure Joint Stock Company, Vedan Vietnam Limited Company, M-Thien Phuoc Limited Company, CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company, Sonadezi Industrial Park Development Joint Stock Company… In addition to the support from businesses, this year's Humanitarian Month also received the participation of religious organizations and individuals in the city.

Mr. Huynh Van Hao (67 years old, residing in Phuoc Thai commune) has been involved in humanitarian and charitable work for many years. Mr. Hao shared: "When we were young, my wife and I experienced hardship, working various jobs to make a living. Therefore, about 15 years ago, when our lives gradually stabilized, we began sharing and helping those less fortunate around us. In recent years, after learning about the local Red Cross organization, Mr. and Mrs. Hao have consistently donated an average of 60-70 million VND annually to humanitarian work, sometimes even more. During this year's Humanitarian Month alone, Mr. and Mrs. Hao donated 15 million VND."

Mr. Nguyen Tan Hung, Chairman of the City Red Cross Society, affirmed: The support of units, businesses, religious organizations, and individuals has created a tremendous resource that helps the City Red Cross Society fulfill its mission of connecting, sharing, and spreading positive values to the community.

Heartwarming acts of sharing

Besides receiving resources from units, businesses, religious organizations, and benevolent individuals, during Humanitarian Month, the Red Cross Society from the city level to the grassroots level organized many practical activities for the poor, disadvantaged, and vulnerable.

This includes the Humanitarian Market activity organized by the City Red Cross Society immediately after the launch ceremony of the Humanitarian Month. The Humanitarian Market is a model of activity with profound humanitarian significance, organized to support people in difficult circumstances by donating essential goods such as rice, instant noodles, cooking oil, sugar, fish sauce, soy sauce, eggs, milk, etc., in the form of a zero-cost shopping experience.

According to information from the City Red Cross Society, since the launch of the Humanitarian Month, the City Red Cross Society has connected with and implemented activities such as: humanitarian markets, free medical examinations and medicine distribution, gift giving, scholarships, livelihood support, Red Cross house construction... with a total value of approximately 1 billion VND for the poor, disadvantaged, and vulnerable.

At 70 years old, Mrs. Ly Thi Hoa (from Bien Hoa ward) suffers from many chronic illnesses, her health is weak, and she is no longer able to work. Her husband has been bedridden for 13 years due to a stroke. She also has a child with mental illness. Her other children all work as laborers, struggling to make ends meet, and therefore cannot care for their parents. For many years, the couple has lived on her husband's monthly allowance and the support of various departments, organizations, and neighbors. Whenever there's a Humanitarian Market, she's always given priority and a voucher. Going around the "market," she finds enough rice, instant noodles, cooking oil, eggs, milk, fish sauce, salt, soy sauce... without spending a single penny.

Pointing to the items she had just selected from the Humanitarian Market, Mrs. Hoa couldn't hide her joy and emotion. She said emotionally, "The Humanitarian Market not only provided material support to my family but also made me feel warmer knowing I received sincere encouragement and care from organizations and benefactors. That's the motivation for me to overcome difficulties and be a strong support for my husband and son."

Within the framework of the 2026 Humanitarian Month, the City Red Cross Society also coordinated and organized many meaningful activities. These included medical examinations, health consultations, free medicine distribution, gift giving to disadvantaged households, scholarships, and livelihood support for needy families in Dak O commune; visiting and giving gifts to children at the Dong Nai City Center for Inclusive Education Development Support. In addition, the City Red Cross Society coordinated the handover of two Red Cross houses in Lam Dong province...

Alongside city-level activities, the Red Cross Society and socio-political organizations at the grassroots level have organized many meaningful activities in response to Humanitarian Month, such as providing livelihoods, gifts, scholarships, and housing to the poor, disadvantaged, and vulnerable. This has contributed to sharing the difficulties with those in need and affirmed the role of humanitarian work in building a compassionate, united, and developing community.
