TPO - The meaningful projects and activities during "Green Sunday" continue to affirm the pioneering role and responsibility of Nghe An's youth union members in protecting the environment and building their homeland.

On May 24th, in response to the second National "Green Sunday" in 2026, youth union members in many localities in Nghe An province simultaneously launched meaningful projects and activities such as environmental sanitation, rural beautification, marine environmental protection, placing warning signs against drowning, and caring for martyrs' cemeteries… This further affirms the pioneering and volunteer role of young people in building a green, clean, beautiful, safe, and civilized homeland. In Nghia Dan commune, the Youth Union, in coordination with the commune's police and the commune's Department of Culture and Social Affairs , organized a campaign to raise awareness, conduct surveys, and erect warning signs to prevent drowning in areas with ponds, lakes, rivers, and dams that pose potential safety risks. Youth union members directly installed numerous warning signs with messages such as "Dangerous deep water area," "High risk of drowning," and "No swimming or wading in the water" to raise awareness among the public and children during the summer holidays. In addition, the youth union members also disseminated information on drowning prevention and safe rescue techniques, and encouraged parents to strengthen supervision of their children.

A vibrant mobilization also took place in Tam Dong commune with the participation of more than 80 youth union members. Local youth organized the cleaning of the Martyrs' Cemetery and erected 20 warning signs against drowning in dangerous areas.

Meanwhile, nearly 1,000 members of the Youth Union in Quynh Anh commune simultaneously launched a cleanup campaign at Quynh Minh beach.

Tons of waste were collected, contributing to cleaning up the marine environment, raising community awareness in protecting marine ecosystems, and building a green, clean, and beautiful tourist landscape.

Despite the scorching heat, the youth union members diligently collected trash on the beach.

In Dong Hieu commune, youth union members gathered to clean up the grounds, corridors, and classrooms at Dong Hieu High School to prepare the best conditions for the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year.

Tasks such as sweeping the schoolyard, cleaning desks and chairs, wiping windows, and tidying up classrooms were carried out promptly and responsibly by the youth union members.

On the same day, young people in the communes of Nhan Hoa, Cam Phuc, Quynh Son, and Luong Minh also carried out many practical activities such as clearing bushes, collecting waste, beautifying village roads and alleys, building "Youth Flower Roads," and cleaning the grounds of community cultural centers and health stations.

Tran Van Hoang (a member of the Youth Union in Tam Dong commune) shared: “Through Green Sunday, we hope to contribute a small part to making our homeland cleaner and more beautiful. Activities such as cleaning, planting flowers, or putting up warning signs about drowning not only have practical significance but also help young people raise their sense of responsibility to the community.”

"Green Sunday" is not only an annual activity of the youth of Nghe An but also an opportunity for young people to promote solidarity, responsibility, and youthful energy for the community. Through concrete and practical actions, the green uniforms of the youth continue to spread a beautiful image of a responsible, proactive young generation working together to build a brighter, greener, cleaner, and more beautiful homeland.
