This is a major festival commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025), taking place from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM on April 19, 26, 29, and 30, 2025, with many activities organized at the following locations: In front of the City People's Council and People's Committee headquarters; the pedestrian area of Nguyen Hue - Le Loi Street; the pedestrian area of Nguyen Hue - Mac Thi Buoi Street; the pedestrian area of Nguyen Hue - Ngo Duc Ke Street; and the Ben Bach Dang Park area.

During the opening ceremony, delegates and attendees were impressed and captivated by the Light Festival - an international 3D Mapping technology performance featuring Mapping teams from the Republic of France, the Kingdom of Belgium, Singapore, and Vietnam. The symphony and choral concert, combined with Visaul Art Mapping technology, was also a new innovation, promoting the intersection and interaction of classical and contemporary art forms, and was also held at the City People's Committee.

Along Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, numerous performances of folk songs, dances, music, traditional theater, sports demonstrations, and street entertainment create vibrant and joyful artistic and entertainment events.
In the area of Bach Dang Park and the Saigon River (from Ba Son Bridge to Nha Rong Wharf), traditional folk music performances, contemporary art shows on floating stages, and water sports performances also contribute to expanding the festival space.
Above the city sky, in front of Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, light displays created by drones and artistic fireworks further enhanced the program's appeal. Alongside numerous artistic and sporting activities, thematic exhibitions and public film screenings on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street created unique spaces conveying messages of patriotism, historical values, revolutionary traditions, love for the sea and islands, and the proud achievements of the city's development.

Following the opening night on April 19, 2025, the nights of April 26, 2025, and April 29, 2025, will continue with vibrant cultural, sports, and technological performances. The night of April 30, 2025, themed "National Reunification Day," promises to be an explosive evening with brass band performances, cavalry parades, community art, and especially a light show using 10,500 drones to create a world record.

The series of activities themed "Colors of Ho Chi Minh City" brings together most art units including: the City Art Center, the City Symphony Orchestra, Opera and Ballet Theatre, the Bong Sen National Folk Song, Dance and Music Theatre, the City Traditional Opera Theatre, the City Culture and Exhibition Center, the City Sports Service Center, the City Aquatic Sports Center and thousands of artisans, singers, artists, actors, dance troupes, athletes, and martial arts clubs active in the arts and sports in the city...

The organizers stated that the series of activities themed "Colors of Ho Chi Minh City" is not only a series of events to celebrate the important holiday, but also an opportunity for the city to proudly introduce to domestic and international friends a dynamic, creative, and distinctive urban center – a place where national spirit and aspirations for the future converge.
