Opening of the 2025 Bac Lieu Province Clubs Open Table Tennis Tournament for the Bac Lieu Newspaper Cup

On the morning of April 20, at the Provincial Multi-purpose Gymnasium, the opening ceremony of the 2025 Bac Lieu Provincial Open Table Tennis Tournament for the Bac Lieu Newspaper Cup took place. The tournament was organized by Bac Lieu Newspaper in coordination with the Bac Lieu Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center - (photo 1) .

Attending the opening ceremony were comrades Nguyen Binh Tan - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee; Vo Van Luc - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Nguyen Duy Hoang - Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Journalists Association, leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism... The tournament has over 140 athletes from 15 clubs in the province and neighboring provinces such as Soc Trang, Hau Giang, Tra Vinh, Ho Chi Minh City... The athletes will compete in 5 events: Open Team; Provincial Team B, C; Children's Singles; Junior Singles; Junior and Children's Mixed Doubles - (photos 3, 4).

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Han Ai Tien - Editor-in-Chief of Bac Lieu Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee, said: "The 2025 Bac Lieu Provincial Open Table Tennis Club Tournament for the Bac Lieu Newspaper Cup is a traditional tournament within the province's annual competition plan - one of the activities responding to the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho". Compared to the tournament held in 2024, this year's tournament recorded more strong players registering to compete in Group A. This is also a practical activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and national reunification" - (photo 5).

The sports tournament was 100% socialized from the contributions and support of table tennis clubs, companies, businesses, commercial banks... in the province, aiming to contribute to the development of the physical training and sports movement in the province in general, and table tennis in particular. The organizing committee presented flowers and gifts to thank the sponsors of the tournament - (photos 6, 7).

At the opening ceremony, the Organizing Committee also awarded prizes in the lucky draw program for athletes participating in the tournament - (photo 8)

Through the tournament, the quality of the table tennis movement of local clubs is evaluated; creating conditions for athletes to have the opportunity to compete and improve their professional skills; contributing to the development of the physical education and sports movement and also on this occasion, Bac Lieu introduces and promotes the image of the land and people of Bac Lieu, the potential and cultural and tourism strengths of the province to friends from other provinces and cities across the country.

The tournament is also an opportunity for members and athletes who love table tennis in all clubs in the province and table tennis clubs outside the province that have a twinning relationship with Bac Lieu to meet, exchange, strengthen solidarity, and learn experiences in training and competing in table tennis.
