Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Workers and Employees Football Tournament

On the morning of January 25th, the 2026 Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament officially kicked off at the football field of the Cultural, Information and Sports Center of Xuan Dinh Ward (Hanoi).

The opening ceremony of the tournament was attended by representatives of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Vice President Tran Anh Tu, and many familiar faces from Vietnamese football such as former Vietnam national team midfielder Nguyen Van Quyet, commentator Vu Quang Huy, etc.

In his opening remarks at the tournament, Comrade Ngo Duy Hieu, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Head of the tournament's organizing committee, affirmed that the 2026 Vietnam Workers and Employees Football Tournament is a platform for improving health, strengthening willpower, and fostering solidarity among union members and workers nationwide.

The 2026 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament will feature 48 participating teams and will consist of two stages: the qualifying rounds will be held from May to July 2026 in the North ( Hanoi ) and the South (Ho Chi Minh City) regions.

The 16 best teams from the qualifying rounds will qualify for the national finals, scheduled to take place in August in Ho Chi Minh City. The total prize money for the tournament is 900 million VND, with the national finals champion receiving 200 million VND.

The newest feature of this year's tournament is that all matches will be livestreamed on the media ecosystem of Tuoi Tre Newspaper, the tournament's fanpage, and the Vietnam Trade Union, serving a large audience of fans nationwide.

In addition, FPT Play will broadcast the two regional qualifying finals, along with all 32 matches of the national finals of the tournament.
