Since 1981, a mass cultural movement of singing about President Ho Chi Minh, the Fatherland, and the Party has emerged under the name of the Lang Sen Singing Festival. In 2002, the Lang Sen Singing Festival was elevated by Nghe An province to the Lang Sen Festival, with a provincial scale (held annually) and a national scale (held every five years) on the occasion of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday.
This is an opportunity to promote and educate about patriotic traditions, spread the ideological, moral, and stylistic values of Ho Chi Minh; contribute to promoting the image of Nghe An province and the Kim Lien Historical Site to domestic and international tourists, thereby promoting cultural and tourism development and inspiring aspirations for the development of the homeland and the country in the new era.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Thai Van Thanh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, emphasized that the 2026 Lotus Village Festival is even more significant as it is being held in the context of the country entering a new era of development, an era of national prosperity, strength, and abundance.

According to the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, today, along with the opening of the Lotus Village Festival, Nghe An province held the groundbreaking ceremony for two key projects: the Quynh Lap LNG Thermal Power Plant and the Vinh-Thanh Thuy Expressway.
These projects not only contribute to the development of the province's transportation and energy infrastructure, forming a strategic link in the national transportation and energy planning, but also affirm the province's capacity and progress in attracting investment, creating momentum for future development.
This is also the most concrete and practical way for the Party Committee, government, and people of Nghe An province to express their gratitude to him on his birthday.
Looking ahead, the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province hopes to continue receiving attention, support, and assistance so that the Party Committee, government, and people of Nghe An province will have more motivation and determination to strive for breakthrough development, and soon make Nghe An "one of the most prosperous provinces in the North" as President Ho Chi Minh instructed.

The highlight of this year's Lotus Village Festival opening night is a special large-scale, semi-live performance consisting of three chapters: "Lotus Blossoms in the Homeland," "Footprints of the Era," and "Enduring Fragrance," depicting the journey from the Lotus Village homeland to President Ho Chi Minh's aspiration for national independence, the spirit of national unity, and the desire for national development in the new era.
In particular, on this occasion, on behalf of the Party and the State, Comrade Doan Minh Huan, Member of the Political Bureau and Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, presented the First-Class Labor Order from the President of Vietnam to the Kim Lien Historical Site for its outstanding achievements in preserving and promoting the heritage of President Ho Chi Minh in his homeland, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced the Decision recognizing Kim Lien as a National Tourist Area.

This event is of significant importance to the development of local tourism, contributing to promoting the image of President Ho Chi Minh's homeland to domestic and international tourists.
The 2026 Lotus Village Festival will take place from May 18th to May 30th in Kim Lien commune, Nghe An province, featuring many unique cultural, artistic, sports, and tourism activities to celebrate the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026).

Earlier, a delegation of current and former leaders of the Party, State, and Nghe An province respectfully laid flowers and offered incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at Ho Chi Minh Square and the Kim Lien National Special Historical Site.
