Opening Ceremony of the Lotus Village Festival and Inauguration of the Statue 'Uncle Ho Visiting His Hometown'

In anticipation of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), on the evening of May 15, the People's Committee of Nghe An province, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Public Security, solemnly organized the opening ceremony of the 2025 National Lotus Village Festival and the inauguration of the statue "Uncle Ho Visiting His Hometown" in Nghe An.

Attendees included General Secretary To Lam; former Politburo member and former Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Sinh Hung; Politburo members and Central Committee Secretaries: Head of the Central Organization Department Le Minh Hung, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Department Phan Dinh Trac, Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien; Politburo members: Minister of National Defense General Phan Van Giang, Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen; Central Committee Secretaries and Chief of the Central Party Office Le Hoai Trung; Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Department Tran Luu Quang; Central Committee members: Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh; representatives from several relevant ministries and agencies; leaders of Military Region 4 and leaders of Nghe An province.

In his opening remarks, the Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Duc Trung, emphasized that Lang Sen Village – the birthplace and childhood home of President Ho Chi Minh – has become a beloved homeland, a source of pride for every Vietnamese citizen, and a place that welcomes many international tourists.

Returning to Kim Lien, every resident feels a deep sense of reverence, emotion, pride, and boundless gratitude for the immense contributions of President Ho Chi Minh – "The man who brought glory to our nation, our people, and our country."

Tourists and international friends have the opportunity to learn more about the life and great career of President Ho Chi Minh; to admire the immense stature of his humanist ideology and noble international solidarity.

According to Nguyen Duc Trung, Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, Nghe An province is proud of its 1981 mass arts movement, known as the "Lang Sen Singing Festival," which created many positive effects and was elevated to the provincial and national level Lang Sen Festival. This is a significant political and cultural event in the lives of the people, with enthusiastic and responsible participation from provinces and cities nationwide and international friends.

This year's Lotus Village Festival is organized on a national scale with many vibrant and meaningful cultural and sporting activities; promising to bring a lively artistic space, showcasing the diverse cultures of the Vietnamese ethnic communities; expressing the sacred feelings, profound gratitude, and unwavering faith of the people nationwide, overseas Vietnamese, and international friends in celebrating the birthday of beloved President Ho Chi Minh.

Mr. Trung emphasized that a special highlight of this year, along with the Opening Ceremony of the 2025 National Lotus Village Festival, is the inauguration of the statue "Uncle Ho Visiting His Hometown," donated by the Ministry of Public Security.

From now on, the complex of Sen Village and the Kim Lien National Special Historical Site has an extremely meaningful addition. The presence of the statue makes everyone feel as if Uncle Ho is still with them every day, with his boundless love and sacred affection for his homeland; reminding every citizen of Nghe An to always remember and continue to strive harder to fulfill his wish: "I earnestly hope that the people and comrades of the province will strive to make Nghe An one of the most prosperous provinces in the North."

On behalf of the provincial leadership, the Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Duc Trung, affirmed that they will continue to promote the strength of the great national unity, strive their utmost to develop Nghe An, worthy of being the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh, worthy of the trust and expectations of the Party and State leaders, and together with the whole country, firmly enter a new era - the era of national progress.

Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Duc Trung expressed his hope that from the 2025 National Lotus Village Festival, the value of the legacy of Ho Chi Minh's ideology and ethics, and the positive impressions of the simple, warm, and affectionate people of Nghe An will leave a beautiful impression on delegates, the people, and tourists from near and far.

At the inauguration ceremony of the "Uncle Ho Visits His Hometown" monument in Nghe An province, Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Deputy Minister of Public Security, expressed that with all due respect, pride, gratitude, and boundless appreciation, and with sacred affection for President Ho Chi Minh, the Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with the People's Committee of Nghe An province, built and completed the "Uncle Ho Visits His Hometown" monument to commemorate and honor his immense contributions, recreating history in Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province, the very place that witnessed President Ho Chi Minh's two visits to his hometown, where he met and had intimate conversations with the Party Committee, officials, Party members, and people of Nghe An province in 1957 and 1961.

This will be one of the iconic cultural works, a representative sculpture with profound historical and cultural value; built on a large scale in a prominent location, harmonizing with the architectural space, natural landscape, and typical historical setting.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Tran Quoc To expressed his hope that the "Uncle Ho Visits His Hometown" monument would not only be a symbolic work with profound historical and humanitarian value, but also a distinctive and exemplary cultural and architectural work; becoming a "red address," an attractive and impressive destination for domestic and international tourists making pilgrimages to Uncle Ho's hometown.

The Ministry of Public Security requests the People's Committee of Nghe An province and relevant provincial agencies to continue coordinating efforts to effectively manage, preserve, and promote the value of the Monument in a practical and efficient manner in the future.

On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam and the Central Delegation, along with representatives of the provincial leadership, cut the ribbon to inaugurate the "President Ho Chi Minh Visiting His Hometown" monument in Nghe An province.

Within the framework of the festival, delegates and the people enjoyed an artistic fireworks display and the art program "Monument in Millions of Hearts," consisting of three chapters: Chapter 1: The Call of the Homeland; Chapter 2: Uncle Ho's Words Shine Forever; Chapter 3: Monument in Millions of Hearts, featuring singers Tung Duong, Trong Tan, Tan Nhan, and artists from the People's Police Music and Dance Theatre, the Nghe An Provincial Traditional Arts Center... commemorating the 135th anniversary of the birth of the great President Ho Chi Minh.
