Towards the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), on the evening of May 15, the People's Committee of Nghe An province coordinated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Public Security to solemnly organize the opening ceremony of the 2025 National Lotus Village Festival and inaugurate the statue "Uncle Ho visits his hometown" in Nghe An.
Attending the event were General Secretary To Lam; former Politburo member, former National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung; Politburo members, Party Central Committee Secretaries: Head of the Central Organization Commission Le Minh Hung, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac, Head of the Central Inspection Commission Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien; Politburo members: Minister of National Defense General Phan Van Giang, Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen; Party Central Committee Secretaries, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office Le Hoai Trung; Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission Tran Luu Quang; Party Central Committee members: Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh; representatives of leaders of a number of relevant ministries and branches; leaders of Military Region 4 and leaders of Nghe An province.
In his opening speech, Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung emphasized that Sen Village - the birthplace and childhood place of President Ho Chi Minh - has become a beloved homeland, the pride of every Vietnamese person and a place that welcomes many international tourists.
Coming to Kim Lien, every citizen is deeply moved, proud and infinitely grateful for the great contributions of Uncle Ho - "He who has made our nation, our people, our country glorious."
Tourists and international friends have the opportunity to understand more about his life and great career; admire the great stature of humanistic thought and noble international solidarity of the national liberation hero, World Cultural Celebrity - Ho Chi Minh.
Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung said that Nghe An province is proud of the mass art movement in 1981 called the Lotus Village Singing Festival, which created many positive effects and was upgraded to the provincial and national Lotus Village Festival, a political and cultural event of great significance in people's lives with the emotional and responsible response of provinces and cities across the country and the participation of international friends.
This year's Sen Village Festival is organized on a national scale with many exciting and meaningful cultural and sports activities; promising to bring a vibrant and colorful artistic space of the Vietnamese ethnic community; expressing the sacred sentiments, deep gratitude, and steadfast belief of compatriots nationwide, overseas Vietnamese and international friends celebrating the birthday of beloved Uncle Ho.
Mr. Trung emphasized a special highlight of this year, along with the Opening Program of the National Lotus Village Festival 2025, is the inauguration of the "Uncle Ho Visits His Hometown" Statue donated by the Ministry of Public Security.
From now on, in the Sen Village space complex and Kim Lien National Special Relic Site, there will be an extremely meaningful construction. The presence of the statue makes everyone always feel that Uncle Ho is still with us every day, with a heart of immense love and sacred feelings for the homeland "highly respected and highly affectionate"; reminding every Nghe An citizen to always remember and continue to make more efforts to fulfill his wish: "I sincerely hope that the people and comrades of the province will strive to make Nghe An soon become one of the most prosperous provinces in the North."
On behalf of the provincial leaders, Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Duc Trung affirmed to continue promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc, making the greatest efforts to develop Nghe An, worthy of being Uncle Ho's homeland, worthy of the trust and expectations of the Party and State leaders, and together with the whole country firmly entering a new era - the era of national growth.
Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung hopes that from the 2025 National Lotus Village Festival, the heritage value of Ho Chi Minh's ideology and morality, the good impressions of the homeland and the people of Nghe An, who are simple, warm and full of affection, will leave a good impression on delegates, people and tourists from near and far.
At the inauguration ceremony of the "Uncle Ho Visits His Hometown" Monument in Nghe An province, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security expressed that, with all his respect, pride, gratitude, infinite gratitude, and sacred feelings towards President Ho Chi Minh, the Ministry of Public Security coordinated with the People's Committee of Nghe An province to build and complete the "Uncle Ho Visits His Hometown" Monument to commemorate and honor his great contributions, recreating history in his hometown of Kim Lien, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province, at this very place where Uncle Ho visited his hometown twice, met and had intimate conversations with the Party Committee, cadres, party members and people of Nghe An province in 1957 and 1961.
This will be one of the iconic cultural works, a typical sculpture, with profound historical and cultural values; built on a large scale in a solemn location, in harmony with the architectural space, natural landscape and typical historical setting.
Deputy Minister of Public Security Tran Quoc To hopes that the "Uncle Ho Visits His Hometown" Monument will not only be a symbolic work with profound historical and humanistic values, but also a unique and typical cultural and architectural work; becoming a "red address", an attractive and impressive destination in the luggage of domestic and foreign tourists making a pilgrimage to Uncle Ho's hometown.
The Ministry of Public Security requested the People's Committee of Nghe An province and the province's functional units to continue to coordinate to effectively and practically manage, preserve and promote the value of the Monument in the coming time.
On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam and the Central Working Delegation together with representatives of provincial leaders cut the ribbon to inaugurate the "Uncle Ho Visits His Hometown" Monument in Nghe An province.
Within the framework of the festival, delegates and people enjoyed the fireworks display, the art program "Monument in millions of hearts" consisting of 3 chapters: Chapter 1: The call of the country; Chapter 2: Uncle Ho's words shine forever; Chapter 3: Monument in millions of hearts with the participation of singers Tung Duong, Trong Tan, Tan Nhan and artists of the People's Public Security Music and Dance Theater, Nghe An Province Traditional Arts Center... on the occasion of the 135th birthday of the great President Ho Chi Minh./.
