Opening of Techfest Edu 2024 event

On the afternoon of August 20, in Hue City, Hue University hosted the Techfest Edu 2024 event. This is the first Techfest program in the education sector to promote the innovative startup ecosystem in universities and colleges.

Associate Professor Dr. Le Anh Phuong, Director of Hue University, delivered the opening speech at Techfest Edu 2024.

According to the Organizing Committee, Techfest Edu 2024 is an important forum to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation in universities and colleges across the country. The event brings together more than 100 school leaders, experts, investors, startups and other stakeholders to discuss, share experiences and seek solutions to build and develop a sustainable innovation and startup ecosystem.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Le Anh Phuong, Director of Hue University, said that in 2019, Hue University was entrusted by the Ministry of Education and Training to pilot the construction of an innovative startup ecosystem in universities, along with two other units: Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education. This is not only an honor but also a great responsibility, demonstrating the Ministry of Education and Training's trust in Hue University's pioneering role in promoting the spirit of startups and innovation in the North Central and Central Coast regions.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Le Anh Phuong, the Party and State's policies and orientations on developing an innovative startup ecosystem have been clearly demonstrated through important resolutions and projects. The Ministry of Science and Technology has accompanied and actively supported Hue University through Project 844, making an important contribution to implementing ecosystem building activities, from training, incubation to connecting and supporting startups.

Since the beginning of implementing innovative start-up activities, Hue University has made continuous efforts to build and develop the ecosystem. There have been hundreds of events and training courses, bringing innovative start-ups to tens of thousands of students, lecturers and entrepreneurs. It has supported thousands of ideas and start-up projects, contributing to the creation of new products and services, bringing value to society.

The conference on innovation leadership of Vietnamese universities and colleges took place within the framework of Techfest Edu 2024.

This Techfest Edu 2024 event with diverse and rich activities will be an opportunity for colleges and universities to exchange, learn and share valuable experiences in developing innovative startup ecosystems, thereby creating new breakthroughs for the career of "growing people".

Taking place on August 20 and 21, Techfest Edu 2024 will have main activities such as: Conference on innovation leadership of Vietnamese universities and colleges will focus on discussing models, methods and solutions to build an innovative startup ecosystem; Demo Day brings opportunities for startup projects to introduce their ideas and products to investors, investment funds and the startup community; Sharkshow - Aspiration to inspire and aspire to start a business for young people through success stories and sharing from famous entrepreneurs and investors.

In addition, within the framework of the event, there will be an exhibition of science, technology and innovative start-up products from universities, colleges and start-up businesses; a job fair in the tourism sector; and an exchange between student music groups.
